And judging by where most designs of the 21st century are headed (if you look at most company logos that changed in the last ten years), it's the current trend to avoid flashy eye-candy.

Even HTC got rid of its over-the-top weather animations in Sense 4.0

People who want wallpapers and bells and whistles and trinkets in phones should maybe grow up a bit!

But keep quiet when it lags or its motherboard dies in displaying colorful heap of icons or wallpapers or contracts malwares. Other than that there is no useful customization features. But beware it is the best in the world! It is pandemic...everywhere!

"It is the largest telecommunications equipment maker in the world, after having overtaken Ericsson." I'd choose their products over HTC's anytime - more experience, cheaper:)

If u need something caalled 'WAAALPAPER',well ,the lockscreen just when turn on/of the phone and after this welcom in the limitid world of 3 colors and an black or white waalpaper. The wp8 world is 3 colors and no images.

Its true that the Lumias (920/820) are perhaps the best WP phones (partly due to their exclusive maps etc.) but yes not everyone who wants WP needs maps.

And not everyone can afford a 920.

So if priced right, this could turn out to be a hidden gem.

No offence and no doubt that lumia 920 is the best . But the fact is everyone CANNOT afford a 920. So one would look for 820 or 620 but for those who want more features will go with Huawei. So what is wrong in that? Moreover Huawei is equally a good company or may be more than Htc and when it comes to china they are the boss. So happy to see more and more companies are going towards windows for their safer future.
If this was available in my country i'd sure go for it. Some may say all wp are same but thats the interesting point. This makes you have on worries about quality of a phone and you can concentrate on design and camera requirements. So you dont have to bother about specs while you are getting whatever possible to get in your budget.
This makes consumers care less about brands and choose phones based on their personal interest. If one cant get a BMW nothing wrong in getting a chervorlet is it ?

Battery is biggest for its size class. With decent specs.

Hope the budget price is good. Nice start for huawei into wp8.
