AnonD-14841, 08 Jan 2013the problem is that the hardware offerings of windows phone... moreThere is enough space to differentiate... The lumia 920 for example... Wireless charging, pureview with floating lense tech., display which can be used with gloves, display which refreshes superfast and lots of other stuff... Almost the only thing that is fix for all WP is the minimum requirements on the processor and the memory... To make sure that whatever WP a consumer gets there is no lag. The reason why many phones are perfectly exchangeable is because most companies barely invest in R&D (with some exceptions of course)

nokiaman, 08 Jan 2013apparently stole the design of the Nokia Lumia 800Word on the street is that Nokia will sell it's mobile phone business to Huawei before the end of the year. Maybe that's why this phone looks so much like a Lumia

the problem is that the hardware offerings of windows phone devices is very restricted
apart from the sexy looking Dell venue pro not a single wp phone has a unique form factor.
the new phone with wp8 I'm yet to see any hardware keyboard
Android has phones with screen as low as the galaxy pocket to the Droid DNA and note 2
then there are quirky devices like that Russian phone with e ink display, and several dual screen devices (agreed they were too quirky to be mainstream like the Kyocera eco, Sony tablet and LG and Samsung had similar models)
so there's barely anything significant that sets apart windows phone devices apart from battery size, camera and perhaps internal memory
Nokia has done exclusive apps, but then what is unique about a windows phone device , each from Samsung, HTC, Huawei and even Alcatel....?
I'm not being a fan boy but I am really curious to find out
I really want to know why I should pick one device from another
glad to find that the windows phone 7.8 update brought Bluetooth file share to Nokia lumia devices, but then the fixed internal memory is the problem

Only issue I have with WP8 devices is that they all do the same thing (Manufacturer A, B, and C all use the same 1.5ghz Krait, same RAM, etc.). About the only difference is probably the camera sensor.
That said, Windows Phone is growing on me, and I may take a look at some of its devices.
