I like the A1600.just got it from honkong(3 days ago).and to my surprise just now that a quadband device lacks WiFi,how disappointing.
Here in Lebanon GPS is not available PLUS Motorola never released a touche phone,(the market is mainly Sony ericsson and NOKIA.)the result getting a touche phone from honkong and its useless d** it.
are there and usb's for wifi for the A1600?(would really come in handy)

Very disappointing. I will just keep my A1200, works great! The only thing I needed was Wifi. Since A1600 and A1800 have no Wifi, I have no use for them.

It is a nice phone, however, the GPS only works in Chinese, I haven't been able to get the internet working with Rogers and it only has two languages, (Broken English and Chinese)
So in this case, you don't get what you paid for.

Hmmmm I live in the US...and I really like what I've read about this phone. I have ATT(former cingular...former attws) and I want this phone. Do you think it will work over here? I dunno....

Also... does it have a MICRO USB ...or a MINI USB.... theres a really big difference. The RAZR has a MINI USB and that's what I have now. So I'm just hoping all my cables will fit it. :)

                  thx!

The Motoming series looks an awesome phone to have, they released the Axxxx series on 3 in the UK up until the A1000 and then stopped. Why??? If they'd have carried on now with this A1600 and the A1800 they could have really been kicking Apple's and Nokia's asses by now, instead they keep launching the Razr's. Have they not noticed the Razr was good when it first come out, but now it's dead. Everyone is going for touchscreen now, something which Motorola had since the A920 and everyone is trying to copy the iPhone, the A1000 was far more advanced than the iPhone (except it lacked iTunes support, but it would still play MP3's - who wants to be locked to the Apple music monopoly anyway?). If they get a 3G version of the A1800 (or even the A1200) out now before Christmas in the UK they could really wipe the floor with Nokia, as Nokia aren't going to have their touch screen phone available until next year. I'm in two minds now as to whether to buy a N95 or 96, or wait to see if Motorola are going to get off their backsides and do something special (or go and import an A1200 from Japan).

the clam cell design will never be a fashionable design if made from cheap plastics! i think the clam cell form is very elegant and no vendor able to create an elegant clam cell like motoclamcell... no cheap plastics here... hueheheheh...

Muhammad-Oli, 24 Jun 2008You are quite right about what their main customers want NO... moreMost CDMA handset looks so minimalist, in a less attractive way. They looks like they’re made for the basic functions, but nothing else, compared to the mid->high range devices from even the same manufacturer, PDA phones aside.

Compared to the large choice of GSM handset, even if using CDMA is cheaper here, the limitation of device that can be used is becoming the minus point.
