Samsung Galaxy S22+ and S22 Ultra's 45W charging doesn't really make a difference

20 February 2022
Samsung is so far behind the competition when it comes to charging speeds it can barely see it in the distance.

I think one of the main benefits is the fast charging speeds from 0-50% or 0-80%.

It's more difficult to test for but it would be good information.

Everyone knows that the last 20% of charging is going to be a slower charge rate as per the charging technologies.

These are interesting results but a few questions.
Which charger model number did you use for the 45W brick? Is it the newly released 45W charger or the older one that came with the Note 10+?
Which cable did you use for charging? Is it rated for a higher amp or just the standard cable from the retail box?
Most people will probably need to buy a new charger and the correctly rated cable anyway to achieve the hopefully 45W charging speeds. This info should be included in this article to avoid accusations of improper testing.

Imagine if youtubers start saying how lame pixel phones have been since pixel 1. Many would surely stop watching the videos.

Does not matter how many issues costumers find whan sales start, you will never hear these issues on youtube.

Is whole S22 Ultra a lie?
Charging speed is just few minutes faster than with 25W charger. Camera is just at No. 13 according to dxomark. I even try it in a store - macro is like shit... All it can do is 100x zoom (I am comparing with best phones at the market).
Battery life is just minutes better than old S21 Ultra, despite telling us SD8 gen1 (or Exinos2200 even worse) been 30% more efficient. It is simply not.
I have pre-order S22 ultra 12/256, but I am considering to cancel my order.
All youtubers and rewievers are just thrilled about every new phone, one can not tell the truth about any new phone.

If the smartphone was able to reach the charging speed of the W45, how long would it take to fully charge in minutes?

              Scamsung

Exactly, that's what I was thinking. Thanks GSMARENA. Samsung and it's battery issues. Always been there.

Not this again. Everyone uses the old 45 Watt charger known to give out around 28 watts. Try the test with the 2022 45 Watt Charger. It's much faster per Ice Universe's tweet.

Actually Samsung phones support 120w chargers but it will only charge at 25w rate to avoid exploding like Note7😜

Fast charging helps only when you want to quickly fill up the battery from a low charge level

Well I own a lot of Samsung, but this is a disappointment. False claims and even pointless hardware sold for a premium.

Shame and disgrace, this is consumer deception! 😠 This is already a second default with the S in the S series. I purchased the Galaxy S22 Ultra based on the specs that Samsung has released. Thus, when I get the device I will sue Samsung in my country on the consumer deception clause. In my country, this style of drowning will last about three months at home for small claims up to a trial of about NIS 60,000. Samsung is me in it !!!

If the total charge time is 1 hour, then measuring at 30 minutes does not make much sense as the charging happens faster only till around 40-50%. Many a times the charging will stop or slow down when fast charging, because the device and battery becomes hot. That's when slow charging catches up with fast charging.
What they should measure instead is how much is charged in 5 minutes, 10 & 15 minutes.
I am surprised a tech site after finding the above results, doesn't even take time to measure how much fast the battery is getting charged from 1 or 10% across the chargers.

Not even worth getting the 25w charger for $20. Samsung still scared with the Note 7 disaster.
