Rasputian666, 22 Feb 2022True. Thought the fast charging tech have evolved to 20-50 ... moreYes i know it does harn the battery luttle more.
Usally i have my phones 1 year, somtimes i have 2-3-4 phones in a year.
Last year i bought the S21 ultra and the MI 11 Ultra, i end up keeping mi 11 ultra and sold S21u.
But if i had a phone for a longer time like my beloved mate 20x (my second m20x, the other i lost), i change the battery, i give 42$ for a original battery replacement in a shop.
So i dont speculate that much if i use the turbo charge every day on the mi11u.
Its really nice to have for me, saved med lots of time.

Rasputian666, 22 Feb 2022True. Thought the fast charging tech have evolved to 20-50 ... more(prev comment incomplete-contd)
I even use the same adaptor for charging my iPad Air4 Wi-Fi (2020)(purchased Mar2021) get ~14-15hrs on-screen time (100-20%) and I can confidently say that using this iPad's (provided 20w) adaptor seldomly when I have the battery below 20% does gg heat up not just the iPad but also the adaptor. This reduces the on-screen time of the iPad Air. However, I now use the Apple's 20w adaptor rarely for fast charging the S10 and the iPad

Rly, 21 Feb 2022Its really unbelievable so many GsmArena readers in here an... moreTrue. Thought the fast charging tech have evolved to 20-50 times faster than what it was 5 years back, it is also optimised to not hurt the battery health in a more adverse way. Till date even after owning the Samsung Galaxy S10 with its 15w adaptive fast charging, I still use the Apple's 5w adaptor with the provided cable for overnight charging. I observed few things which tested for a month noting down the on-screen off-screen talktime and all while using the 15w charger vs the 5w which I use for overnight. Practically saw the battery drain happen quickly while using the 15w adaptor for charging while it gave me 10-15% more prolong usage while using the 5w Apple Adaptor. It's been more than 20 months since I'm using this phone and with mid to low brightness, I am still getting 7-8 hrs on-screen time compared to almost 9 hrs using the same setting in the beginning. I even use the same adaptor for charging my iPad Air4 Wi-Fi (2020)(purchased Mar2021) get ~14-15hrs on-screen time (100-20%) and I can confidently say that using this iPad's (provided 20w) adaptor seldomly when I have the battery below 20%.

Anonymous, 22 Feb 2022That’s why you buy a phone with good battery life and charg... moreCompletely agree. This recent trend of xyzWatt charger is propelled by people staying indoors due to the pandemic. What if in the next couple of years things go back to normal and the reach of charging points will not always be feasible when outdoors. Shooting videos or photos typically eats up 2000-3000mAh battery per 1-2 hrs. However efficient the processor the need of a 6K+mAh will be felt once 5G becomes mainstream similar to how with the advent of 4G the battery capacities in smartphones went up from an average of 3500mAh to 4500mAh, similarly 5G consuming power more aggressively no matter the processor capability will spike the need for more mAh typically 6K+ and hope it makes the manufacturers pay attention to graphene based battery which will be thinner & lighter with more capacity.

Phones with high charging speeds often come with small batteries and poor optimization even Xiaomi reduced charging speeds with Mi11 Ultra

Rly, 21 Feb 2022Its really unbelievable so many GsmArena readers in here an... moreExactly this!! And the fast charger already comes in the box, so buying an extra 20-30w charger for "prolonged battery life" shouldn't be a problem for people who still usually end up buying chargers for phones that don't come with it in the box. Fact is most people who whine about fast charging have actually not used it.
Btw, some brands even offer trickle charging with the same fastcharger for when you're not in a rush. Stop living in the dinosaur age people 😂😂 Fast charging rocks!!

Anonymous, 21 Feb 2022No doubt they are going to have to split the battery in two... moreGimmicks are tricks intended for publicity purposes.
Fast charging using two batteries is not a gimmick. It literally improves charging speed by a vast amount, which is something people actually want to be faster so they can be away from an electrical outlet longer.

The problem is not all about how fast it can charge, it's always about how safe it can be charged.
Also how long it can use after one charging battery.

Its really unbelievable so many GsmArena readers in here and most of them doesn't know about this fast charge tech, but they talk like the know it all.
See its like an option, noone forces anyone to use the high speed gear.
Just use one of your old chargers... Voila, problem solved for those who dont like fast charge and i will bet on, most of you never tried it at all.
Its awesome to have this option... Love it.
I have 3 different chargers i use, the original i bought fir my Mi 11 ultra 67w charger, which gives me turbo charge. Then i have one which is fast charge and the the old fashion slooowwwe charger which i never use.
So folks, it all up to you, just dont buy the original quick charger... End of story or even better, end of crying.

IpsDisplay, 21 Feb 2022The phone your currently using is using ultra fast charging... moreMy phone still 10W charger, yes it takes a long time to charge (almost 2 hours) even the battery is only 3000mah. Honestly, I also want this charging speed to be under 1 hour So? Speeds below 100W seem to be sufficient for now.
