What a huge downgrade from flagship SoC SD860 down to lower mediocre SD695 that cant even record more than 1080p vids & no EIS. I thought Poco is about gaming performance. Looks like a rebadge of Note 11 Pro 5G lul.

Just put the 5G modem back. Some would still complain but still better than a barely upper Midranger chipset.

Gutted at how Poco has gone backwards with its X series phones. I'm still happily rocking the Poco X3 NFC and honestly I've got no issues with this handset. It's still really snappy performance from the SD 732g chip, 2 day battery 33 watt fast charge (1 hour) to charge 5060mah battery along with loads of other great specs like stereo speakers, ir blaster, 120 Hz refresh and 240hz touch refresh rate, notification led, headphone jack and micro SD/dual SIM slot, reliable face/fingerprint unlock, 64mp camera with 13mp wide angle lens and macro cameras with 20mp selfie cam selfie cam. Also I'm one of a dying breed of folks who want LCD screens and not amoled and the screen on this phone is excellent. It's running Android 11 with miui 12.5 enhanced skin which I really don't understand all the haters because personally I think it's great with none of the problems I hear others complaining of. 1080p plenty for my 56 year old eyes. The only thing missing is 5g but in all honesty 4g still plenty quick enough for me and although I have no plans to swap this phone I might well be tempted to buy the X3 Pro if the price drops when this 'new' (read downgraded) model comes out. The only other phone I'd consider would possibly be the Poco f3 but smaller battery and amoled screen put me off a little. Was really hoping for an X3 Pro with SD 870 with 5g support but sadly not to be.

If this brand goes in the failure path, this will end very badly for them.
Seems that it will be the very last phones (Poco X3 Pro) I will buy for them.
And since Samsung flagship and Realme are underwhelming... time to think to gaming phones or even Apple ones.

5G is totally unnecessary at this price range. Users will targeting the X series devices wants the 8xx series even if it has only 4G in it. It seems that Xiaomi is now assembling phones based on what's left of the supply instead of opting for what is best in their brand's series of smartphones.
Redmi Note 11 Series: MTK (except the Pro), higher prices, extensive marketing on TVs and Facebook. The new SD 680/695 has no support for 4k recording.
Xiaomi 11T Series: Dropped the OIS in favor of AMOLED and very fast charging. MTK chipset in the lineup that has been mainly snapdragons.
Now Poco X4 series: Now have MTK in the lineup, SD8xx chipset gone which also means slower UFS storage 2.2 instead of 3.1. The new SD 680/695 has no support for 4k recording.
Xiaomi opting for MTK in these releases doesn't necessarily mean that they're choosing the best rather they're choosing those chipsets just to alleviate supply that Qualcomm could not fully satisfy, the same mindset of as to why they opt for the SD 6xx instead of 7xx or the 8xx series.

The whole reason people bought a poco x3 pro was to have a flagship chip(somewhat) at a low price. Without that, there are better phones to buy.

I think Google should remove the Android licence from companies that release phones with obsolete Android versions.
I don't even want to look at new phones that come with Android 11 in the next months just to play the "two new Android releases" support promise.

OLED destroys the delicate pr... moreso sad,, there are high-grade IPS panel with wide color gamut and good contrast brightness, that much better than low-grade AMOLED.
i rather than high-grade IPS panel with good chipset.

That medium grade SOC are weak compared to 1/2 or even 3 generation back 800 series not only because uses less big cores but because all the other technologies associated.
things that are apart from CPU that are a lot worse in these 600/700 series SOC than an older 800 series.
GPU
RAM
ROM
Nowadays the GPU, RAM and ROM architecture and performance are the main reason to the huge differences in mobile phones real performance perception.
Apps like Instagram or any browser are GPU and data allocate eaters.
This phone will suffer from performance obsolesce earlier than the phone that replaces.
With this new SOC I doubt it can manage for example Instagram story filters without stuttering or low FPS.
