How hard can it be to release one model or variant with the same hardware spec across the whole world? I really can't see the point of launching two identically-named phone but with different hardware spec.

Coincidentally I just saw Unbox Therapy's video about it (iQOO 9 Pro BMW Edition). The large & fast fingerprint reader, 20min fast charging & gimbal horizontal lock feature in particular are rather impressive. Always nice to see improvements in technology, even if they're minor.

What is it with phone manufacturers this year? It seems like every time a 'new' phone is announced the specs are very often a downgrade on the previous model. The chipsets seem to have taken a huge hit this year. I'm not necessarily talking this handset as the 888 and 888+ are obviously top end processors but many mid range handsets are getting worse SOCs than the previous years. So many SD 680/690/695 chips or mediatek 7000/800 or helio p96. What's happened to Snapdragon 7xx series chips this year? All to say 5g ready at the expense of other important specs. I also think no phone should ship with anything less than 5000+mah battery these days. Fast charging is great but actual battery life is still way more important. Battery anxiety should be a thing of the past these days and one last personal gripe then I'll get off my soapbox, please keep making phones with LCD screens. I honestly don't know why everyone seems brainwashed about amoled but it hurts my eyes, gives me a headache and still suffers burn in on a lot of the lower tier panels (and yes I've used both) anyways just wanted to get those gripes off my chest. Peace everyone ✌️
