Sony Xperia 5 IV rumor claims the phone will use a TSMC-sourced Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset

23 February 2022
We've heard this chip referred to as the 8 Gen 1+ and it might run cooler - important for a relatively small device.

I have stopped looking into Sony mainly because of the ratio of their phones. If they could only STOP MAKING LONG PHONES it makes it look so ugly.

B52, 11 Jun 2022+1, 5 IV can be perfect if it will feature Qi charging.FCC certification says it will!

With that in mind, I can see how a 6.1 inch 'bezel-less' phone would be harder to fit the components. Mainly the multiple cameras and bigger battery.

the pixel 2 xl (2017) is bigger in every dimension while having a 6" screen, and the 5" pixel 2 (2017) is just a centimeter (2/5 of an inch) shorter then the 5 mk iii.

the 5mk iii had 4500 mah battery, compared to older flagships 2700 on the pixel 2 xl, 3500 on the s8+

Bigger sensors and more cameras, for a more capable experience overall (compared to the s8+)

You get a more capable soc in theory, and in practice you need more cooling wich eats up extra space (because the 888 was and still is kind of an overheating mess).

              More/faster storage and RAM.

You also get a smoother high refresh rate screen.

You are getting much more phone/tech per cubic centimeter: it might not be your kind of advancement, but you have to recognize that it is objectively harder to engineer.

So are you saying phones from 5-10 years ago were more harder to manufacture than the big phones of today? Doesn't really add up tbh.

Compact phones are a dying breed because they are harder to engineer (and they are worse for media consumption), if you are not willing to support them and overlook the shortcomings don't expect them to last

You just sound like someone that never had these extra long format phone and is thinking like when we had these ultra bulky 16/9 phones. But as I said too, it's down to preference, and the "1 is already small" was dependant on the first part of the sentence "Being tall with according hands", I'm not a native English but I'm pretty sure it was perfectly understandable, as size is not objective but subjective. Also the 1 could really be 1/2 inch bigger, I don't care about what others are doing, the 1 is not tall in my hand and could be bigger without any drawbacks, period.

Btw I'm still waiting on an argument on why sensor size wouldn't be the most important when it comes to image quality.

I do admit that I have bias, but I have also faulted Sony as well. I'm not a blind fanboy like you're trying to make me look like.

You also need to stop deflecting and stop nitpicking certain things to win brownie points.
