Sony Xperia 5 IV rumor claims the phone will use a TSMC-sourced Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset

23 February 2022
We've heard this chip referred to as the 8 Gen 1+ and it might run cooler - important for a relatively small device.

Myth, 23 Feb 2022The problem is that for most of the people it will be diffi... more1 for high-end
5 for medium
10 for budget

Isn't that it? 3 category.

Makes no difference too mee, because I've rooted mine, with Custom Rom and kernels. It's already overclocked and gain off 25%, which still blows the Generation 1 new SoC.

JustSayYeah, 23 Feb 2022So that mean Xperia 5 III price will go lower Even lower pricing for the Sony 5.2, which isn't really different to the Sony 5.3 and Sony 5.4
Truly a great modern phone despite being +2 years old.

I would buy a Brand New Sony 5.4, but it requires a couple things.
Firstly, make it available in Q1 2022 instead of Q4 2022.
Secondly, upgrade the cameras so they are competitive in its price range (iPhone 13 Pro, Pixel 6+, Samsung S22).
...other nice-to-haves would be Wireless Charging, Flat ergonomics (see Xperia 1 mk III) and, slightly lower pricing (under USD $700).

In all honesty... The 8 Gen 1 non plus version is a marketing ploy... Although very powerful... What do I mean? Well...

I honestly believe that qualcomm has even more powerful SoC's on the way... Stay tuned.

Xperia 5 Mark 4 (4th generation), similar naming scheme to their Alpha cameras. What's so hard to understand about it? Or rather, what's making it hard for you to be intelligent enough to understand such a simple thing?

At least TSMC is a better chip maker compare to Samsung so that somehow good news.

It does not have the tsmc version nor these cameras.
At this point, they already got all SD8g1 bought.
Tsmc did not even started making the chips.

The Xperia 5 series would be perfect if it had wireless charging (and Samsung level of software support).

So I'm hoping they inlude wireless charging in this mark IV.
