Heck, the (ancient) iPhone 6s and SE1 is still used by many people around the world today, mainly due to the fact that it’s hardware can still support the latest iOS version without problem. It’s also the last iPhones to feature the 3.5mm jack, something many people still desire on a phone. It’s one of the easiest repairable phones along with plenty of spare parts available. It’s low price on the second hand market makes it a desirable phone for a first time/very budget iPhone user.
And guess what, they both feature an outdated yet well loved design(more on the SE1) and don’t have fast charging.

Nickname optional, 27 Feb 2022There are still many people who like this design. I had at ... moreYou ain't getting iPhone 13 mini level battery life by simply increasing the battery capacity. All the other components bar the A15 will consume more battery than their counterparts in the mini. The screen, camera, fingerprint scanner, speakers etc are probably still made using 2014 or 2017 tech with horrible energy efficiency.

LOL at "no one forces you." As if the iPhone SE were very popular. If that is the case, this article about a possible lower price won't exist, and we won't have this conversation.
Also, I don't think that it makes perfect business sense. If the iPhone SE is a great product, yes, regular models may be sell less, but if more people buy the iPhone SE, Apple may even get more profits. It's more like Apple is satisfied with the status quo and isn't willing to take risks.
