By next year, they will reach to a new absurdity, like 500 watts, for charging the phone in 2 minutes and then blowing up the entire house

travis999, 28 Feb 2022Mad. Who really needs to charge a phone in such a short tim... moreto complex and difficult for smartphone maker
remember they just combining available tech/parts together, not the one creating the techs
obviously all SoC maker trying to achieve better efficient each generation, thus since few years we moving nodes rapidly
but really if we look at the ecosystem, its not easy things, not only depends on user usage/settings etc. , the apps also matter, how much developer putting effort in make the apps efficient etc.
forcing agressive power-control wont be good for every user, just imagine forcing power-save mode to everyone, there will be many issue user facing due power-save turning various things in background

Mad. Who really needs to charge a phone in such a short time span ?
How about instead, firms make the socs etc far more efficient ?
Id much rather have a device that takes 6 hours to charge a 5000mah battery, but that charge can run device for 3-4 days, over a battery that charges in 5 minutes but still only runs device for a day.
Roll on real super efficent chips etc..

Do such phones at least really charge at 12W using standard 5V 2,4A chargers? It's usually so weird that they do 150W using their proprietary chargers, but when you give them fastest standard 5V 2,4A power (which is standard max for 5V), they freak out and charge at much slower rate than even that for some reason.

So, instead of working on efficiency, oppo just wants to increase the top speed that is never reached.
Cool.
Curious to know if this 150 is gonna pass 120 and if it keeps for more than 1s.
By the way. Oppo phones only work fast charging with own chargers. Any other with same specs is gonna keep it under 18W ( x5 pro) or 12W ( x3 pro)

This technology to extend battery lifespan should exist on all phones. But no company ever works to innovate in that area. What should be a standard feature is instead highly advertised as an innovation. But i appreciate opoos work with the batteries on their phones
