This kind of feature is very desirable. What are you being salty about?

On iPhone I have this cool app called Juice Watch which show status of battery on watch and on phone (and vice versa). It also has charge alarm and for as long as phone and watch are on same WiFi network, I get notification about the charge even if I'm on other end of the house. But it's not hard limit. If I see it and ignore it, it'll continue to charge to 100%. It was similar on Android phone if it was not rooted minus the ability to be notified via watch, I had to be nearby.

I don't see anything for you to complain about

And if you want control just charge it when your awake, you can monitor in real time as the phone will charge in only a few minutes

This is proactive behaviour and will be standard in the future

Just like how 30W was once considered overkill back in the day

A very interesting concept indeed, hopefully it will work just as well as they advertise it. It's good to see Oppo is trying to push the boundary for the battery charging speed AND the battery longevity at the same time, as most companies only focus on either one of them and tend to ignore the other.

If it were Vivo, I could consider them being different enough, but Oppo-1+-Realme are all the same and even run the the same s/w, same charging animation and also if u didn't notice already, they also share the same charging tech, after renaming it!
Btw my source of confusion was the previous article which talked about realme gt neo3 supporting 150W charging

                      LGs, 28 Feb 2022150W 0-100 in 15min, but 120W in 17min well that's diminishing returns in a nutshell!!
Honestly 65-80W is more than enough and already FAST AF!!
cutting the charging time from say 100+ mins to 30-45 mins is much more noticeable and life-changing than going from 35 to 20 min.
And btw 50W charging was enough to fill the Find X in about half an hour back in 2018 as well (I know it had a smaller battery capacity but still my point is that half an hour is enuf!)

This article is about Oppo's new charging, not about Realme. Go away.

Anonymous, 28 Feb 2022With such fast charging it should be a requirement for user... morethey do have something called optimised night charging which limits it to 80% for the whole night and fills it up by the time you wake up; so you could essentially limit it that way if u charge it at night before bed (a notifications will pop-up when optimised charging is enabled), and then remove it within 20-30 mins when you go to sleep
And in any case, you could just wait around the phone to unplug it, it isn't as if u will go around, do some work, then return after half an hour and so miss it.
Alternatively just charge it using a slower charger, I too have the 50W charger, but I very rarely use it, most of the time I plug it into my laptop USB-A port (5V-10V I guess) or my older phone's 10W charger

tell me which one this copied from? chinese tech creates the latest everywhere.

People kept complaining the battery degradation from fast charging, well the Oppo engineers made a solution to that problem. This really looks like they are attempting to be innovative which I applaud although honestly it is overkill.

With such fast charging it should be a requirement for users to have total control over charging and charge limits. With such fast charging I'd absolutely want at least ability to hard limit charging. I've been charging phones to 80% only for years now and it really extends battery life dramatically. I'm on 3 years old phone and with 80% charges I go around with it for day and a half. I have to rely on charge alarm app to let me know it reached 80%, would prefer hard limit, so even if it's still plugged and reaches 80%, it would stop charging. With such speeds, that would really be a very desired feature. Yet it's so hard to find info about phones that do and don't have such controls for charging. Only one that I know for a fact to have such feature are ASUS Zenfones. And that's about it.
