The original SE is my favorite iPhone of all-time. I owned the 12 mini briefly and while it was better in every way, I preferred the physical home button. The gestures ticked me off so much that I even stopped using it for Android after loving them since 2013 or even 2011 using webOS.
What ticks me off really just comes from the battery life after updates. My physically flawless SE just bought last year brand new has atrocious battery life. Even standby is horrible. That's why never again with iOS. My favorite iPhone has slipped in my favorite rankings because of it.

I do however would like to see the old se to make a comeback since that's a very handy size and i can use that as a second phone besides my main like, just to carry one to the gym. Since who even takes their behemoth size phones there.

Anonymous, 03 Mar 2022XR design but SE size. That is what he meant 🙃They are not going to do that. Redesigning anything means it'll be expensive because you need to adapt entire manufacturing of it. It's why SE models are straight up iPhone 8's. Slapping newer chipset on it doesn't seem to be that complicated, they just slap a different chipset on the mainboard. If they'll ever adopt XR model it'll be under 2 conditions. It'll happen when upper tier iPhones reach entirely different design language (ie notchless design that's being rumored for ages) and it'll be in entirely unchanged form, but like always, using latest chipset. If there will be iPhone SE in 2024, it'll most likely be straight up XR with A17 Bionic chipset and potentially extra 1GB of RAM. That would actually be pretty cool. As someone who's still on XR, I'd actually consider going with SE then. It's genuinely nice device and with efficiency gains of new chipsets it would last forever with 3000mAh cell it has.
