dbjungle, 04 Mar 2022Can we all just agree that iOS isn't open, isn't ... moreDoes it matter? I've had all the customizations, all the rooting and all the ROM's on Android and I still ended up hating it because of how poorly it's maintained and updated by individual phone vendors and how useless all the customizations are at the end of the day. It all felt like holding a shack that's falling apart together with some rubber bands.

As for notifications, I don't know what's wrong with any of it. They are basically the same as on Android, but without icons in notification area

The photo is so fake as it's the promo photo of 2016 iPhone SE.

AnonD-785804, 04 Mar 2022I didn't mention about flop or hit. Flop hit depends o... moreGot chance? Dude, if an idea keeps failing every time it was tried, it's not because "people didn't get a *chance*", but because it is not of much use.
Remember ASUS used to sell mid-range phones as well? Well, those "mid-range" phones ran on "stock Android" and it's flagships ran on ZenUI.
That was for a reason. Not many people want a featureless UI, especially if costs more.

And I HATE trasHMD for digging Nokia out of its grave and then killing all the nostalgia and respect it had. They never made a single phone that can be qualified to be called a Nokia. Pixel kind of experience? Huh. A $150 Poco M3 running custom ROM would be closer to Pixel than a €600 Nokia 9. Don't get me started on that brand.

I was talking of "Android One" phones by Motorola (like P30 series) not its regular, non-Android One models. And they did provided monthly security updates and 2 Android upgrades.

Nope. Xiaomi didn't deliberately ruined experience on A3. It had to be ruined. What else can you expect when your phone is supposed to get monthly updates? Every update will destroy something which other will fix. Not every manufacturer can release 2 phones a year and dedicate an entire team and resources to monthly update it, even if it isn't making profits

So, A3 was not actually overpriced.
Pixel is doing good? Well, if you consider it's past sales, yes. But if you compare it to any other brand, no. Had Google been an OEM only, they would have shut their business long ago.

SShreyas, 04 Mar 2022It's a completely flop idea, my friend. It has failed ... moreI didn't mention about flop or hit. Flop hit depends on how much users consumed or got a chance. UX of Android one was good on my Nokia devices. I used them since they launched back in 2017. You may check my list of favourite mobiles where I favourited only mobiles I used. My friend had Mi A3 (xiamo wantedly ruined user experience in that), Moto they don't offer good and longer software updates. Pixels are very good and if budget constraints then Nokia gives pixel experience kindoff.

dbjungle, 04 Mar 2022Can we all just agree that iOS isn't open, isn't ... moreSo long as people are willing to accept that not being ‘open’ just isn’t that important to many people, neither is Android’s degree of customisation. As for notifications, well I do certainly think this is an area where Android has always had the edge, but I’d hardly call them a ‘train wreck’ on iOS

This will use the Xr/11 display.

iPhone 8 displays were EOL in September.

All of your leaks are wrong.

Can we all just agree that iOS isn't open, isn't very customizable and notifications are a trainwreck on it? Whether or not you still like it despite that is fine.

SShreyas, 04 Mar 2022It's a completely flop idea, my friend. It has failed ... moreXiaomi A didn't really fail. They killed it. The series was quite popular for Mi A1, A2 and A2 Lite. There was a rumor they would kill it before the A3 even launched then they intentionally an entry level phone at a price premium higher than all other A series phones. Second... Pixel has only been gaining in sales. People always try to make some argument about plain Android being bad, but if manufacturers intentionally make crappy value propositions on them then of course it won't sell.
Like the Mi A3 and anything Nokia branded. Same goes with flagships and custom OSes. That's why HTC, LG and Sony ran into such problems.

Literally every time. Essential failed, HMD failed, Xiaomi's "A" series failed, Motorola's Android one failed, Kyocera, BQ, LG, all have failed.
