And as much as people argue the supposed benefits (my LCD screen is plenty black enough) they can't argue the physical facts that they genuinely give some people (myself included) eye strain and headaches. I've seen some comments that LCDs have pwm flicker but I haven't noticed it and since I've been using the X3 NFC I haven't suffered at all using it and like you say, everything looks clearer and sharper and honestly 1080p is as clear as I need a phone screen to be even if wqhd is sharper I'd take the better battery life using fhd+. I'm not sure what micro LEDs are but I've seen couple of articles about them being the future for phone screens and if that's true I hope they operate more in the way of LCD over amoled. Really depressing seeing amoled marketed as an 'upgrade' in manufacturers marketing these days.

Most reviewers get a their AMOLED screen smartphones for free and don't have to suffer as much of a loss if the display goes bad.. and these are the people that push for OLED

They hype it up like crazy

And if you point out a flaw with AMOLED people respond to your comment like how dare you have a preference

Acorns, 05 Mar 2022So refreshing to see someone else who thinks LCD screens ar... moreYeah, I had to give up a samsung phone because it had an amoled with no DC Dimming and my eyes hurt after 15/20 minutes, even at low brightness. Honestly, the only upside of oled to me is how even the brightness is across the display, everything else is downsides, color accuracy all over the place at different brightness levels, crushed blacks smearing on dark videos or games, even websites, the possibility of burn in down the line...

I've tried a couple of amoled phones and wondered why my eyes always struggled and I got headaches from using them. Chose a Poco X3 NFC with IPS LCD and will never go back to amoled. I agree with all your points and don't understand all the hype around amoled screens especially from tech reviewers. The worst thing this year with almost every new phone release is that even budget phones are getting amoled screens but the chips they using are mostly downgrades on last year's models so performance is worse just so manufacturers can say amoled and 5g in their marketing. I don't need a flagship phone so please at least in budget/mid range keep some models with LCD and decent chip. This year's Poco X4 pro 5g is a classic example of this strategy. Imo the X3 Pro was a near perfect budget/mid range handset, just give it an SD 870 with 5g and you keep a winning formula and add in 5g for future proofing with plenty performance at very little extra cost to the current model. Seems like a no brainer to me?

If the cameras produces equivalent performance, then the realme 9 5G/9 SE 5G/Q3s(whichever has the 778g) should've been the 9 Pro with the 9 Pro being the regular

            Realme 9 > 9 Pro?

Pumpino, 04 Mar 2022Why do you prefer LCD? I only switched to AMOLED two years ... moreSide fingerprint scanners also comes bundled with AMOLED screens

              As for my reasons

1)I prefer them because of their endurance (no burn in worries)
              2) cheaper costs (both in repair and also in lowering the manufacturers bill of materials which sometimes gives me the end user a stronger processor in the overall phone)

              3) sharper display because modern OLED uses pentile matrix which is about 30% less pixels

              4) lower nits brightness
              5) for the most part no PWM flickering to hurt my eyes.. again for the most part
              6) it is the most versatile display technology in existence so there is alot of possible combinations coming
7)higher peak brightness at full screen without much risk

IpsDisplay, 04 Mar 2022Thank you LCD for allowing us to get better quality process... moreWhy do you prefer LCD? I only switched to AMOLED two years ago and not long after, I switched to dark mode due to it being easier on my eyes. Knowing that AMOLED is easier on my battery with dark mode means I don't see a reason to return to LCD. I also hate side fingerprint sensors.

It's amazing that Realme can release a dozen phones per month and the majority of them can't be purchased by people.

Probably the OPPO K9s and K9x (which are exclusive to China market) with some minor tweaks.

So rebrand from realme q3s and realme 8s 5g .

And where is the realme gt neo 3 gaming edition?

Meanwhile the Realme UK site still says "notify me" for the GT master with 256GB (obviously it will never make it to the UK), for the 9 Pro, for the 9 Pro+, not a single Neo phone made it to the UK, the Pro2 is nowhere to be seen.
And the funny thing is that they have a Twitter account dedicated to the UK promoting phones that will never be available to UK customers.
Honestly I have never seen a company either so disorganised or so willing to take the piss from their potential customers.
