I get it But they could at least appease this end of the market by releasing one good high-end mid-range that's not too big say 6 inch.

PureView by the way was a great attempt We just marketed incorrectly

Hmd global don't need make expensive smartphones

That's fine some brands just make budget and affordable smartphones that are good for there price range

But hmd global high price low end hardware specs poor soc poor ram capacity poor storage amount in mid range market

Definitely avoid Nokia mid range phone there very overpriced for there hardware all Nokia is good for is budget smartphones

Nokia most affordable budget smartphones are at least competitive in pricing with the Chinese brands

Android 12 turned out too be so very heavy so software support just made the budget Nokia smartphones so sluggish and have freezing problems

        Turns out Nokia strategy backfired
Underpowered hardware with new software with higher system requirements trying too run it well

This doesn't mix well at all new software old hardware
I should of know better that this would happen
Google really made the new Android versions such a system resources hog

System requirements of minimum 6gb ram really did a number on the budget smartphone market as a whole given I seen complaints across the board with sluggish performance on budget smartphones from every brand on Android 12

Nokia should just make a $600 flagship with Snapdragon 8 gen 1 inside bit silly too say a $600 smartphone isn't a flagship

Anyway the problem Nokia has is the processors they choose to put in premium price range smartphone are too weak for the price tag

On the other hand Nokia is keeping there smartphones up-to-date and some of there new smartphone have 90hz or 120hz screens now in 2022

But I think the best Nokia smartphone are there budget smartphones where Nokia is very competitive

IMO they should have collaboration with BlackBerry for their phone..Nokia has good camera with zeiss and good build quality while BlackBerry has the security and good apps..It would result in a good phone...Nokia and BlackBerry fans will come together and buy one for sure..the classic company together

Cyberchum, 11 Mar 2022You're so confused at this stage, because when did I s... moreYou just said last post because sd 480 cant beat any 5g soc from sd family its lowend.

Your a human Being use your brain stop cramming number.

Device to be lowend or midrange its because of features not its name, yes majority of sd 4xx are lowend but doesnt mean all of them were lowend.

-sd 480 has cortex A76 same cores last year were mainstream in midrange
-sd 480 has adreno 619 same gpu used in midrange last and this year
-sd 480 has triple Bit isp, used in few Highend and midrange which can capture video and image simultaneously.
-it support latest features like ufs storage, higher refresh rate, same quick charge 4 used in other midrange etc.
-it support 5G and mmwave even highend from competition doesnt have this feature.
-it supoort Mimo in wifi, and has Wifi 6, most lowend doesnt even have wifi 5 this has wifi 6.

I havent seen even single feature which suggest sd 480 is lowend device, i told you midrange features, its your turn to show ua those lowend features which make sd 480 lowend devices.

Hemedans, 11 Mar 2022When Qualcom released sd 865 the lowest 5G soc was sd 765, ... moreYou're so confused at this stage, because when did I say or imply that the lowest 5G SoC=low-end? I actually made it very clear that, naturally, 5G chips make their from highend to low-end.

Just decided to look up now, and found this Wikipedia entry. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Qualcomm_Snapdragon_processors

I guess it is incorrect, but Qualcomm overlooked it.

                    I'm done with you!

Hemedans, 11 Mar 2022Then what made phone lowend, tell me that, because all of y... moreYou even know what a product series mean?

Qualcomm has 4 series of chips:
                      Low-end: 2xx & 4xx
                      Midrange: 6xx & 7xx
                      Highend: 8xx (recently 8Genx).
And disagreeing with that won't change that.

You don't know better than they do!

Hemedans, 11 Mar 2022What about snapdragon 695, 690, 750 they both have adreno 6... more750G isn't in the same generation with the other ones. Learn!

And GPU, alone, isn't a basis of which SoC is better.

Tell yourself which one came last among 480, 690 and 695. Once you do, you'll have answered yourself.

Hemedans, 11 Mar 2022so definition of lowend is to fail beating 5g 6xx? calli... moreYou do realize that Qualcomm might not make another "4G only" smartphone chip again, but that chips will still be classified regardless, right? Or do you think that once a SoC has 5G, that it's no longer lowend? Just as 4G was once reserved for flagships, then midrangers, before getting to low-ends; soon 5G will be ubiquitous in the low-end, too, and that won't make low-end phones disappear.

Like I said, you compare with the ones in the same generation: 480, 690, 780G and 870/888 are in the same generation, all with 5G. Of course, 480, 690 and 780G aren't all midrangers, are they? Why don't you classify them, then?

Using just price as basis would be like saying that because phones with 780G cost way more than Poco X3 Pro, that SD860 is a low-end chip. Lol. But let me entertain that your price logic for a moment, do phones with 480, 690 and 780G cost the same? Are they all in the same class?

"CORRECTION: when it fails to beat any *5G* 6xx series chip launched after it.

We saw that with SD690, which impressed against SD765G, but got slapped by SD780G. It's better elder brother still got pummeled by SD778G."

Again, SD480 is a 5G SoC, which is a valid factor. Show me a 5G 6xx SoC that came after it which it beats. Go ahead, I'll wait.

Hemedans, 11 Mar 2022Notebookcheck isnt smartphone standard, if sd 480 is lowend... moreNotebookcheck isn't a smartphone standard? I guess that that means that gsmarena's takes on laptops should hold no water because it's not a laptop standard, right? Wrong!

But no problem: Cite a reputable site that calls SD480 a midrange chip. No further excuses, please.

How many times I'm I going to point that out? SD662 is an old SoC. Moot point!

SD680 is a "4G only" SoC whereas the SD480 is 5G, of course, phones with it would cost more. Common sense!
