Meanwhile Android flagships moving to complete display with everything very well tucked under the screen, from sensors to biometrics to cameras. I wonder how many centuries will it take for apple to arrive there

thats kinda impossible since you need that big notch to fit the face id, r they gonna replace it with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor

It technically cuts off less of the display then the current notch, it goes further down, making it more look more intrusive. Reminds me of the Pixel 3 XL notch.

Unsure if this is in any way better than notch if it's even true. It's certainly unique, just like notch is in 2022. All other phones are a generic mass of punch holes where you don't really know whether it's Realme, Samsung or Honor. With iPhone, you instantly know it's iPhone because of a notch. Brand recognition matters and if BMW cars are recognizable by those kidney grills and Nike with the checkmark, Apple always makes sure to have something distinctly different feature in their devices. Every outline of a phone in any kind of drawings and you know it's a portrayal of an iPhone, even if you don't see Apple logo anywhere.

It's less intrusive than the notch but just barely, lol. Well, at least it's something new, in the Apple sense, of course. Android has already done them to death and are looking forward to under-display cameras.
