I'm sure the M2 will be "faster", but what that means in real world will be where the problem lies. Personally I'd prefer more CPU cores and / or more RAM over anything else. But I bought my Macbook more as a device to get me away from Windows on the desktop. It can easily run my music production and dj software without any problems and was a pretty decent value for the money. Now I'm just waiting for Apex Legends anti-cheat on Linux and I can drop Windows like a bad habit.

Design Counts, 09 Mar 2022If it does, I'll suggest a massive boycott of Apple fo... morePop-up camera ain't a bad idea, although I have a feeling that they're waiting for UDC tech to get better so they can put the camera under the display eventually.
And then again like I said below, if they keep the same 720p camera then I doubt there will be a notch. But if they do upgrade it, either expect to see thicker bezels than the Pro (although might still be thinner than current Air), or it's notch time.
Although then again, I don't think they would do a white notch since they may make the bezels on the Air white and use colorful colors for the body, like the current iMac.

So expect an entry level M1 Macbook air SE that will get a price cut and starts from $799 when the new Macbook air comes

During the keynote yesterday when they showed all their M1 powered products on a slide, the new MacBook Pros looks awful with the notch. To those who say it goes away when you use it. No it doesn't. We cannot mod our software, OS etc to suit notches and pin holes. How about a pop up camera?

If Apple keeps reducing entry level price I think they can start to grab more market share in the desktop OS segment. But... I don't think Apple will do that. I have the base model M1 Air and it's cool, it runs League of Legends pretty well. IMO, I see absolutely no incentive to upgrade without some key feature being added; 120Hz, mini LED or more CPU cores. Otherwise it'll have more or less the same real world performance as the first model. Personally, I would only upgrade for more CPU cores.
