I think Nothing is the future for OnePlus
Carl Pei snaps off a piece of OnePlus because (I think) he doesn't like where it's headed,
    ala Andy Rubin. and...
BBK is just corporate enough to abandon a lackluster model type to shore up it's other brands.
    Watch for the Nothing phone.
    I'm hoping flagship, but it's likely a snazzy, mid-range.
It's where Pei was when he left.

but yeah as long as the phone in general is a good solid device and I like it for the most part, ie good battery stamina, screen is good enough quality to view images, build quality is good, etc....but the more features we have the better, as long as they are tried and tested and not just half baked things

Can you guys stop giving anecdotal evidence

Do you people not understand that there is NO fast charging standard.. there is literally multiple variations on fast charging technology

But yet still you are going to just generalize and say fast charging is unanimously bad SMH

Xiaomi does NOT use the exact same approach as oppo etc etc

I just gave my opinion that it doesn't make sense not to buy a great phone if it doesn't have wireless charging. I also don't mind a lack of headphone jack or expandable storage, but they are nice to have. As for the "features", I never said I needed a feature rich phone but as long as it gets the job done, without looking like an absolute monstrosity (cough cough mi 11 ultra) I'm willing to recommend it

So basically any feature "you" don't like gets removed, but anything "you" like is fine

I admit wireless is rubbish compared to wired, but it's still an extra little go to feature, say like some cafes have wireless pads in their tables , or some offices have desktop areas for wireless.....
It's like people who are against and for 3.5mm jack vs bluetooth.....it's all down to preference

SheethLuvsOneplus, 12 Mar 2022lmao did you just compare preaching doomsday to not liking ... moreWho said fast charging is just pumping voltage into battery

When you say such things you highlight the ignorance that is contributing the stigma..

Manufacturers have doubled battery life cycle .. oppo for example

-They split their batteries in two..
-change their entire charging circuitry for parallel charging,
-Invest in new materials like graphene , even active cooling to protect battery chemistry
-Change the Architecture of thier charging cables
-installed voltage monitoring chipset in their batteries
                -Redesign their charging bricks

And you just oversimplify everything to just increasing voltage while refering to same vague battery test that "proves degradation"..

When even in the smartphone industry there is no standardized fast charging so how did you supposed test prove otherwise for all these many fast charging variations???

Just remember to finish the washing machine cycle before you charge your phone.

Apart from Samsung, most OEMs seem to be struggling with this update and it seems delayed compared to previous years. I think the only way to get Android 12 on a Chinese phone is to buy a phone that's just been released, like the Realme 9 Pro. However, me selling my Nord 2 for the Realme just to get Android 12 seems ridiculous.

Nickname optional, 12 Mar 2022Well, it's always like this with the mid-range phones ... moreThat's actually their strategy in mainland China. That's part of the reason why people buys iPhone over there, even if its expensive, but at least there will be support.

Released with android 10 and 2 years of guaranteed OS updates?

And OPPO's fast charging have always looked safer to me than other fast charging, even in 2018 with the 50W charger, they started using dual cells batteries.
And GSMArena wrote an article about the 150W, did you miss it?

Ppl will always exaggerate everything these days. Plus, there have been multiple tests showing that fast charging does kill battery longevity so stop acting like every upgrade they make to phones is without flaw. Also because they're pumping so much voltage into the battery at once, the battery can't hold all the power and this loses its ability to do so over time. It's like pouring water into a container, if u dump a lot at once, a significant portion will spill put because of how fast your pouring. Unless they make these phones with 6k-7k mAh batteries, there's no reason to get anything over 66 watts

as much as my name says I love em, they're just not making enough actual improvements to their phones. Other than the chipsets and slight camera upgrades... why should I go for 10 pro when the 9 pro is at a gr8 deal rn. And if ur not the biggest fan of fast charging, even the 8 pro keeps up. AND even the 7 pro is still gr8 value to this day.

I stick to my safe 66W fast charger fast enough for me. I wish they put resources into improving battery life and capacity.

If fast charging is that good then why do companies only claim 80% health after just 800 cycles. It's obvious that it's bad for the battery. And also, figures that companies claim are always lab tested and therefore highly enhanced. Actual figure is like 70 to 75 percentage under just 2 years. Fast charging is bad
