Forget all these other regions pricing ---- How much is it in India... This is Xiaomi's biggest market in any case... I'm guessing around 55K for the 8 / 256 , and about 60K for the 12 / 256 ... The Xiaomi 12 Ultra will probably start at around 70K this year...

If the 12 Pro cost the same as Mi 11 Ultra, I won't be surprised to see the 12 Ultra cost the same as the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max or Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Minus $100 you get 870?? That is 2 generation below, even apple reduce $100 for 1 generation chipset.
Greedy, overprice. Xiaomi is not reasonable price/perf anymore.
And aftersale is horrible, only good thing is dual apps.

Anyway, it's Android, people already found ways to disable GOS, and Samsung has been pressured to allow people to disable it.

The 870 is currently Qualcom... moreThere are good phones with SD870 at 350EUR in my country. Poco F3, Realme GT Neo 2. And even lower you can get SD778 phones. Which are also good.
Xiaomi and Realme want to do what OnePlus did 2 years ago. Enter in the flagship realm and challenge directly Samsung and Apple, also by pricing.
We all saw how successful OnePlus was. Maybe Xiaomi and Realme will be more successful. But I doubt a long time user of Samsung or Apple flagships, will suddenly pay the same amount of money for a Xiaomi or Realme.

Also,it will come under Poco branding later this year with even further reduced price. Poco F3 has tons of roms working better than stock software. So this will get too if prices remain under control. Redmi/Poco phones are for the custom rom support only. Get it without hesitation.

About the battery life, i am not sure how much better it is, gotta wait for reviews but the ones I enumerated (ip rating, and telephoto camera) are glaring omissions on such a flagship phone.

Flipp, 15 Mar 2022Agree but build quality is certainly not better on S21 FE. ... moreyou are right, the s21 FE does look cheap at the back although in front it looks sleek, a lot better than pixel 6 for example.. The s21 FE also has an official IP rating and optical zoom that both the mi12 / mi 12x lack.... and the FE can be found on offer within the 450€ to 550€ range, much cheaper than both the mi 12.

why would I get this over an s22? Apart from the fast charging, the standard mi 12 lacks a telephoto camera and official IP rating.

Samsung price at Malaysia is alway higher than Xiaomi,
For base variant:
1. S22 RM3499 ($836), S22+ RM4099 ($980), S22 Ultra RM5099 ($1219)
2. Xiaomi 12 RM2999 ($717), 12 Pro RM3899 ($932)
Announcement for 12 Pro is compare to S22 Ultra, but the price range here is match with S22+
The pricing for both brand at Europe seem to be a bit close to each other compared to Asia market.....🤔
