iPhone 14 Pro depicted in renders with a pill and hole design instead of a notch

The pill fits the wider hardware of Face ID, while the punch hole is for the single selfie camera.

    Back in 2016 i bought a redmi note 3 and though "this will be the last phone i have that has a big forehead, neck and bezels". And looking at what LG and Meizu had then it looked like reality. Now i have a poco f1 and am thinking " what's the next big dumb thing on a smartphone?".
    I wish we could go back, but there is no time machine or list of people that need a good bonk on the head.

      after all these "official leaks" apple will still be using the big ass notch.

        I love when brands advertise screen resolution but still count pixels that do not exist when cam is located. Advertise as if was 100% usable surface.

        Apple does it too.

Even Apple is ashamed of the notch, which is why they use a darker wallpaper for their pro models to hide it.

That's been the iPhone speaker and camera setup since the introduction of the iPhone X model in 2017, look at any iPhone X back in the day. It was hidden within the notch, now that the notch is gone, one can clearly see it. That speaker and camera was there since 2007 but it was part of the top bezel chin. If you are going to post a comment like that, at least do your research first. I am reminded of this Mark Twain quote: "Its better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."

                  I already imagine a design like that though 🙄

                    in android there are those holes since 2018 but, as apple is going to implement it, everyone will copy it, now we will have a pill-shaped hole in the middle at the end of this year, save this comment

                      I don't mind it. I have developed immunity to notches, punch hole. I prefer selfie camera quality over that unnoticeable interruption
