Redmi K series only up to K20, since then no more.

Oh boy, the K50 looks really nice with that Dimensity 8100 chipset and 5500mah battery. Too bad for that 2MP macro camera. I don't understand why they put it in there, waste of space. But anyway, the rest of the phone looks really nice.
Hopefully they will bring it globally too. Maybe through some Poco rebranding or something.

The top model in the k30 series came with a 64mp main imx686, 3x telephoto with OIS and 13mp ultrawide. That was still the best camera setup on a Redmi phone. The k40 and k50 series have been worse. Even the regular k30 came with the imx686. The k50pro this year doesn't even support 4k 60fps. There focus has switched away from cameras but with Realme now giving the imx766 along with OIS in phones at the same price point maybe Redmi will be under more pressure to improve the cameras in future models.

I was aiming at a d9000 phone but seeing how power efficient the 8100 is and that battery option without any weight penalty (?), it does seem like a great choice.

It's the global rom that most people facing issues. I am tempted to import the K50 as well, but Googlepay and NFC not working in my country are the biggest issues for me in getting China rom phone.
