Finally a redmi with OIS... till now the OnePlus Nord series (and more recently the a series (33, 52, 52s, , 53, 72, 73) are the only mid range phones with OIS. Excluded the Oppo Reno series since they have ridiculous pricing in Europe.

That efficient Dimensity 8100 coupled with 5500mAh battery will make the phone last longer than any other 2022 phone, well done Xiaomi!

I was expecting at least a 12MP ultrawide with macro or even same macro as previous gen and 64MP Sony sensor on main cam but alas! The macro camera has now degraded and the main and ultrawide are the same.
The camera design is also worse than Redmi K40.
What a disappointment....

Gcam on the Poco f3 absolutely improves the camera performance, but Gcam probably won't work well on MediaTek soc's.

problem with mediatek chipset is the video encoder Which I saw on the Redmi Note 10S
The problem is that the videos are seen over contrast
One solution is to use the MX Player and select the playback mode option to
Software Decoder or SW Decoder for short.

First was a Redmi Note 4X from a local dealer. I also bought ROG P2 Tencent but it was secondhand. The latest was I bought a Realme X2 Pro 6/64 variant from Aliexpress because it was decently priced compared to the local market which only offered the 12/256 variant plus the markup. I didn't have any major problems within an year which is how long warranties usually last. I know there's a risk if something goes wrong and sending it to China is a hassle but so far I have good luck.

Redmi K50 is extremely tempting for its launch price, I might consider upgrading to this via import and I don't mind the rather outdated camera sensor but lately Xiaomi's software has been met with many criticisms. Considering Realme will be launching the latest Dimensity soon, that might sway onto me more. K50 Pro is also a really good value phone. There's a couple of Snapdragon 888 phones that are pretty inexpensive in Aliexpress so that probably competes with Redmi K50.

Looks like xiaomi has removed telephoto lens from all their phones except the premium 1000dollar phones.
I'm sticking to my k20 pro.

That camera module almost ruins it. It looks like they left the design unfinished. The K40 looks so much better.

Holy hell they actually didn't let us down, this is extremely awesome. I was gonna take the plunge and spend $170 to repair my K40's display but I might as well just get a K50 or K50 Pro.
The K50 sounds too good to be true to be honest. I mean, 1440p, 67W charging, a 5500 mAh battery that doesn't make the phone too thick, a glass back, 8 gigs of RAM on the base model, a chipset that doesn't overheat, OIS, and not an overinflated price?
OIS is unheard of in cheaper phones, and that display is absurdly good, like ABSURDLY GOOD.
Thank you Xiaomi, ya had me fooled with the terrible 12 series but this is a very welcome surprise.
