How much does fast charging cost in terms of battery capacity?

Have you noticed that phones with fast charging tend to have smaller batteries than phones without? We investigate whether the trade off is worth it.

I used 15W to 18W is more than sufficient for me. 25W or 33W is good to settle. Don't go beyond unless battery tech is improved.

33W is perfect!! I have 2 phones in family with 5000 mAh battery (Poco X3 Pro & Realme 8S). Both charge in 60-65 min to a full 100% charge.

I really like the 33 Watt charger that was included in the Redmi Note 10S and I only charge my phone to 80-90% because based on some research charging up to 80% can extend the life of a lithium battery.

Honestly just want a proper big battery in a compact-ish phone - charging around 30W is fine for me. Would easily take 2 day battery life over crazy fast charging - charge it overnight every other day.
But yes, for decently fast top ups I would still like 30W.
