Forget it heat issues

Would be interesting to see a comparison with the current SD8g1 to SD8g1+. Hopefully, we will get some information leak or press material so people will have an idea what they will be expecting in the next set of flagship devices.

Hey now, I'm as interested in technology as the rest of you... I know the specs of most phones available each year even though I know damn well I won't be considering most of them when I purchase one. I have a S22 with the SD8Gen1 and even though I care about having the best or close to it, truth is I will never even get close to being in a situation where I say to myself : "I need more power" or "if only this damn SoC ran cooler or was more power efficient"... and neither will any of you. So, stop acting like you are all "power users" and buy the phone you want and pretend the specs are a mystery... you'll never notice a difference...

If qualcomm goes to cortex a7xx series and have tsmc they would be very efficient and powerful. Even sd 865 uses cortex a77 as a prime core yet its still powerful in 2022

This is quite late, especially for the new 7-series SoCs. This time last year, they had already been announced and phones with the Snapdragon 780 had already been launched.

It seems that Qualcomm is really neglecting the flagship killer segment and the upper midrange segment… 😔

Another very expensive chipset that will be supported for only 2.5 years, and have a dozen critical security issues reported each month.

The Android ecosystem needs to move away from Snapdragon.

TSMC: I can only give you guys 5k chipset per month
Qualcomm: Deal we will take it

Better to box out mediatek.. why the hell would Qualcomm risk mediatek building brand recognition and taking a slice of the high end market

Mediatek literally doesn't exist In the high-end they have literally 0% presence now they can get a measly 5% but that low volume is a massive start.. ever heard of a compounding effect??

Qualcomm has always been market leader in the high end

The very birth of the D9000 is to get that piece of the pie

So I'm not sure why that statistics is a surprise to people

I'll say this again Qualcomm should also try to secure low volume as well

That 5% is a slippery slope and as a rival to Qualcomm ...Qualcomm in my opinion is foolish to let mediatek get a foot in the door

That is literally how underdog stories are birthed the giant falls and the underdog rises from minority

Have you see article that shows mediatek is barely used on phones above $300?

This excellent news for Team Droid SoC's. We have awesome SoC's to kind of choose from. D9000 and for gamers like me. Well I have actually ordered less than 24 hours ago. The k50 gaming edition handset. 8 Gen 1 powered. I am actually very pleased with the comparative performance of the 8 Gen 1 vs the A15. The GPU is simply much better than the A15's. The CPU side is no slouch either. Things can only get better for Droid as we have increasing competition. Qualcomm is doing the right things. There GPU is the best right now. Ahead of Apple. There Plus version will be so close to D9000 and A15. Sure the thermals may be a little warm. Power maybe a bit thirsty slightly. But over time. With this competition. Things are only going to get even better for Droid SoC's. I am content greatly. Samsung is improving its Fab... Dimensity is going for pole position. Qualcomm is reacting well already with an even better performing SoC... And a slightly better Fab on top of that... So don't worry... This is actually all good for Team Droid. Completely.
