It could be Xiaomi 12 Ultra's new 50MP main sensor.

From the very few camera reviews I've seen of it, that seems to be the case.

      People used to drool over megapixels, now they do over sensor size, but in the end it always ends up being about image processing anyway... Xperia Pro-I had 1" sensor and it still made worse photos than Samsung/Huawei flagships with much sensors

            1" (4:3) has about 16,1mm, not 25mm diagonal.

              - not used by own company owner
              - hottest while charging = 60 celsius (videos on youtube show)
              - useless curved screen that does not reach 1Hz as advertised , also has poor brightness uniformity across screen
              - low end usb C 2.0


              500 euros Redmi Note 11 Pro+

              - old glass used by 2017 phones
              - cant do 4K videos
              - useless macro cam
              - no NFC
              - only IP53
              - low end USB 2.0

              But Captain takes his frustations of not having an iphone on Samsung and Sony. He still refuses to accept xiaomi phones have hardware at least $150-200 cheaper than phones of same category, in his mind price difference is only profits.

                    I wouldn't hold my breath, Sony's 48MP 1/2" was the exact same size as...what was it again, 12MP 1/2.55"?

                              Boring. More 12.5 MP photos that won't really look different from all the other 12.5 MP photos outside of differences in how overaggresive noise reduction, sharpening and microcontrast are processed.

                              I would like to see a large sensor like this with 16 or 20 MP binned output.

                                        Why don't they use the diagonal width of the actual sensor for marketing, rather than a fraction representation of a tube that is unrelated to digital cameras.
