The Xiaomi Mi 11 may also be throttling certain apps

28 March 2022
The Snapdragon 888 powered phone is over a year at this point, so it's not clear if it was doing this from the beginning or of this is a recent change.

Maybe Geekbench is the problematic one, not Samsung or Xiaomi.

All the Xiaomi fanboys praised the Xiaomi Mi11 series even before it was released, just looking at the spec sheet (because this is the only thing they know to do, lol). And they were laughing at Apple or Samsung phones. After that, the phone proved to be a mess.
Now, with many Xiaomi phones having quality issues (both software and hardware), all the Xiaomi fanboys have almost disappeared from arena. That’s because they probably bought Apple or Samsung phones, lol.

It is not like phones can be perfect, especially a flagship killer value one, otherwise why aren't we all buying that one perfect phone?

Sot(5-6Hours) it's not the best out there but otherwise I'd say is a great and capable flagship. I play fifa daily so i haven't experienced any overheating. Maybe when it was released wasn't good but now with MIUI 13 seems ok to me.

Avi Kerendian - I understand that Xiaomi is a great company, but I can't understand why the Mi 11 may also be interfering with certain apps? Total disappointment?

It's really laughable how a lot of the comments in the comments section insult a phone brand they don't and can't even own in their area lmao.

Mi 11's throttling was acceptable cause it actually improved performance unlike other brands where it throttled too far that it lowered game performance.

It's also laughable how people want maximum performance that isn't usable in anyway just cause it's a flagship lmao. It's even funnier that these people don't even game at all and they demand maximum performance that they will never ever even reach in their goddam life. It's like wanting to buy an oven to go beyond it's allowable temperatures cause you paid a lot of cash. No one's gonna sell you a new oven that's design to deliberately fry itself. It doesn't make sense at all😂

So you want maximum performance and MORE throthling in certain apps? Benchmarks only last a few minutes,so they can maintain maximum performance if you do it once. But in games they know you can easily play more than 1h,so they reduce speed but you have stable and good performance, so no throthling. I know what to choose. And do you even know there is a switch mode inside recent Xiaomi phones, that you let chose from Battery Saver/Balanced/Power modus?! In Power Mode you maintain FULL POWER.

One option - they can refuse to buy overheating/inefficient SoCs from Qualcomm/Mediatek at huge prices. And insist on buying one year old flagship SoC until Qualcomm/Mediatek get their act together. But the downside is, they cannot charge a huge amount from customers. They can price those phones at best at upper mid-range price. This is where their short term thinking is killing their long term reputation. They ALL want to make a quick buck, without considering the long-term reputation loss/sustainable profitability.

Other option - Still buy the latest SoCs from Qualcomm/Mediatek, but don't clock the SoCs at full speed for the high end cores (X1/X2) and run them at a clock (2.4/2.5 GHz) where the performance is sustainable. The CPU/GPU benchmark numbers would be lower, but they can at least focus more on features in the phone from marketing perspective and insist that their focus is on sustained performance, not benchmark numbers which are irrelevant now and that they don't care about benchmark numbers anymore. That would require courage to do the right thing. Do they have it - is the question.

Apple and Samsung have their own chip design, but still have throttling issues, occasionally their may or may not solve that issue all the time.
