I can say this is similar to gaming phones. the majority of phones I've own are flagships but I barely had any enjoyment in playing mobile games. throw in a simple Plants vs Zombies and some graphically intense and great game but those are rare. Like you said, this isn't a PC or a console, mobiles games, for the vast majority of it, to put it bluntly, are crap

however, now I owe the ROG Phone 2 and it made me enjoy mobile gaming significantly more. I greatly enjoy emulators, though like the recent AetherSX2 for PS2 games. been playing God of War for example and the should triggers were immensely helpful. no need for additional gamepads of hardware

to summarize, it's the experience of playing the game on a gaming phone that makes gaming phones unique. it doesn't necessary makes the game better or graphically enhanced, but it's how you experience playing the game because I never really paid any attention until I tried the ROG Phone 2 and now I never wanna go back

The Black Shark 5 is the best one here not gonna lie. The Pro with SSD+UFS sounds kinda like marketing trick, the SD 8 Gen 1 performance is good but ain't sustainable. The RS is just a Black Shark 4 Pro and 4S Pro. The Black Shark 5, while using an older chipset, it's still cooler than both the S888 and S8Gen 1, more sustainable, still vastly more powerful with most of the features from the 5 Pro being inside anyway.

Gaming phones and no support for USB 3.1? Why shouldn't we enjoy game playing on big screen? 😢

At least, Motorola has started supporting USB 3.0 on their phones.

Would someone care to explain to me why gaming phones are a thing . There might be a handful of graphically demanding games but this is Android. It's not like GTA 5, Crysis or Fallout on PC in which are very heavy on RAM and CPU

The SSD+UFS makes about zero sense and is just a marketing talk. SSD/NVMe/UFS is all the same thing/interface. I bet what they are doing is RAID0 between those two storage "drives" or something similar which boosts speeds. Otherwise it makes very little difference between UFS and NVMe. Probably none actually. Caching SSD with another SSD is idiotic and only somewhat makes sense if cache drive is Optane which can endure more writes.

                            Bypass charging???

Bypass charging should be a mandatory feature in every smartphone on the planet..

Then again maybe in doing so we will have the damage moving away from the battery but to the charging port burning out more quickly
