It’s amazing how fast my iPhone 8 Plus works on iOS 15 despite it is 4 and a half years old. I’ve been thinking to upgrade to a newer iPhone for sometime but each time Apple is giving a new update and the fact that it doesn’t want to slow down or to get laggy, I think it’s consumerism to give up such a good device for a new one. I think this phone will be as fast with iOS 16 meaning I will stick with it for some more time. All of the androids phone I had, none was able to stay as good as this iPhone. I now know why iPhones are so popular, no Apple sheep or Apple logo as I once thought but Apple really does good, long lasting devices.

The idea is fixing those problems that appear, in relatively good time.
iPhones, being the most common and having the largest communities, any bigger problem becomes quickly mainstream. And is easier to resolve it in faster time.
When you sell 10 phones per year, also each of those 10 phones, different for each market, then is more difficult to resolve the problem in fast time. It should be a really big problem to arrive at the ears of the manufacturer.
That's why many problems from other manufacturers or not so common models of phones, are left unresolved even for months.

Why can’t IOS have simple options to preserve battery longevity, like being able to stop the phone charging at 90%, and letting me say how many hours I’m putting my iPad on charge overnight to calculate the best charging rate, instead of wasting money developing AI algorithms that will never predict which days I will up early or late.
The Simple user-definable option are usually better than complicated ones !

[deleted post]Lol, still better than what some Android manufacturers are doing to some of their models.
My previous phone, OnePlus 9 Pro, was full of bugs after the Android 12 update (even serious ones, like apps not working correctly anymore). It became so frustrating, that I sold it. Maybe if it was a 300EUR phone, I would have been more understanding.
And is funny, how many people are commenting on Android forums, "Aah, no big deal, just do a factory reset from time to time and you will be ok". Like, is something normal, lol.
And after that I wanted to buy some Samsung flagship phone. But when I started reading about S22 fiasco and also about S21 FE very poor battery performance after latest updates, I said "Pass on expensive Android phones".
Bottom line, iPhones are the only phones worth buying with more than 500EUR. Android flagship phones not so much nowadays.
Only cheap Android phones are worth it, at least you do not loose much money when you need to change it each 6 months. Because they failed to correct some software mistake or did some software update on purpose to break something inside the phone, to force you to update to their newest models.

This is somehow worse than not getting any updates at all on most Android phones. What good is LTE/5G there when update just never happens in the first place?

I was kinda surprised when the pop-up asking me if I wanted to update using cellular data. I don't mind, since I'm on unlimited data plan. It only took the update to download 200MB++ for less than 5 minutes 😎

Pret... moreIt is not corect, you can setting the phone to traffic data when you open the first time de phone, depends on your mobile operator. In Romania existing no limits traffic data depending on traffic data plan. Have a nice day.
