02 April 2022
It could potentially eliminate the need of a physical SIM card slot in the future.

iSIM (it's no apple-thing) is the way to go.

Hope esim get soon to my country. It's like forever.
I do not hope for memory slot, as internal 256GB+ is enough, faster and more durable, data goes online anyway.
As for jack, it would be great to have, but truly lossless wireless even better. It would be more futuristic - wireless and in case of wire, you could use external dac which could have also amp, or neckband with a jack, whatever. Jack is nowhere but nobody seems to care about lossless alternative.

It makes me laugh a lot those who complain about having "control of their data" if you are connected to an ISP such control went down the toilet...Lol

Anonymous, 02 Apr 2022Just take a look at headphone jack and microSD card support... moreI won't be surprise to see top brands, especially Apple and Samsung, playing mind games about "being so secure".

FatShady, 02 Apr 2022just because companies decide to doesn't mean we shoul... moreJust take a look at headphone jack and microSD card support. They are still a truly relevant hardware in 2022 and beyond, and yet do smartphone brands put either one or both of them on their so-called "premium" smartphone? No, they don't. Only Sony (and previously LG) be individually different and not do that. It's just a matter of time before smartphone brands will try to lobby and psycho all of us about their "relevance".

I don't mind having eSIM on my work phone since it won't forever be mine, but on my personal phone that I bought with my own money? No, not a chance. I want total control over my own data

Wait wait, I did not notice the "space" part. I am pretty sure the module space woudln't allow for any extra battery or features. If phone manufacturers wanted to find a way to make things better they can, they choose not to.
We still have huge battery beasts like the Mi Note 10 Lite with incredible battery line AND 2 sims AND an AUX oh AND an IR blaster.

Who cares? You can count the phones that support eSim on your fingers. We are far drom getting excited about this.

Yay!, just what we need, even less control over our mobile phones and the way we use them...

It's a great move yeah we have bright feature but what about the old Phones.
