Too soon for flagship, it could hold 2 years more, but samsung say no, your phone is old, buy new one.

The children have been abandoned by the father. Nowonder children needs to be independent from the father's software support through custom roms. Don't buy closed systems.

Bledi..., 05 Apr 2022iphone 6S 2015 work with ios 15.4.1…Yeah for about 1h, than you need to charge it again. Lol.
I mean it has the latest software, but for what purpose? Phone calls and messages? You can do that without software or security updates on any 100-150EUR phone.

Bledi..., 05 Apr 2022iphone 6S 2015 work with ios 15.4.1…And? It's way slower with newest iOS and there's barely any changes compare to previous releases. Apple have this wonderful game of updating all previous products to newest software that slow them down so you will think of getting new one sooner or later. Modern product aging done cleverly

Bledi..., 05 Apr 2022iphone 6S 2015 work with ios 15.4.1…and the features are still like android gingerbread

Just imaging, your very expensive flagship ou bought 1200$ today, will be treated this way in a handful of years. Luckily, I think th s9 was not so expensive.

Anonymous, 05 Apr 2022Good going by Samsung. Other brands like Xiaomi can't ... moreIn all honesty. I've never owed/used a Xiaomi phone but from what I can understand Xiaomi don't really advertise how many years the device support cycle is. Have you notice there's more MUIU updates on Xiaomi phones as opposed to Android OS. And because of that I wouldn't be surprised if in a few years time they leave Android and MUIU turns into an OS (Exactly what Huawei done, except that the fact Huawei had no choice but to leave Google's ecosystems)

Luckily there is custom rom for S9 and S9 plus which grants them android 12 with One UI 4.1 so there is some life left in these great devices

Anonymous, 05 Apr 2022Good going by Samsung. Other brands like Xiaomi can't ... moreIt's not good going. It doesn't really matter either way. You don't need updates. My friend has the Xiaomi pocophone F1 from 2018 and it's flying along perfectly fine. The Samsung models cost twice the amount and they weren't even much better at all

Meanwhile iPhone XR also from 2018 keeps on rocking the updates the exact same way as brand new iPhone 13's...

Also this moving of monthy updates to quarterly is not mentioned anywhere when you're gathering info about new devices. One would assume if someone says "3 years of updates" that means same release schedules till end, not cutting it down by factor of 3 in last year. I want to love Samsung, but they keep doing dumb things like this.
