I'll never buy another Samsung product again! A perfectly good phone being outdated is a waste of money and resources.

Carol, 07 Apr 2022Actually there is no business when customer is not satisfie... moreThere is no business if no demand, not satisfaction. If people demand small phones you can just create one. If there's no competition people will buy it "what I need is a small phone, the rest can go later" the rest can mean support, quality etc. It depends on demand.
Also that's why there's some organizations called NPO, because others are profit oriented, such as samsung

Carol, 07 Apr 2022Actually there is no business when customer is not satisfie... moreNo they are not wrong. Enduring speaks for itself. And wanting your monies worth, not wanting lied to or having everything taken away, expecting upgrades, etc etc etc etc etc is not every one in a million.
Most companies don't care. You need to learn this fast. And these devices and company policies show it. It's only getting worse and it's not just phones. Almost any consumer good and even jobs.
Nothing matters except the bottom line. They will cut any corner possible at a customer's or employees expensive, charge the most they humanly can, and then claim you should be thankful and it's the best they can do.

Anonymous, 07 Apr 2022Exactly. Every company is the same. People should understan... moreActually there is no business when customer is not satisfied, so your opinion is wrong and lacks understanding of business in general. While they do care about money, because without them there is also no business, they also pay attention to what the customer wants. Of course they won't pay attention to 1 cusomer in 1 Million, that would also make no sense. So actually the bigger the company gets, the more people buy their products, more manufacturing is needed, more people are needed and so everything scales up quite fast. Every market has it's saturation, and when that comes well the company needs to decide either to lay off the surplus Personal or do redundant releases or to try to make the customer buy every 6 Months. There are other companies like apple that deal with this in other ways, locking their customers to it's enviroment, store sales and so on. But there are companies that have nothing that can keep them afloat, so they will do everything to make more money and stay in front. Of curse there are also greedy decisions made and people that never have enough, but not everybody and everything is tge same....

I think Samsung should copy apple and relese s9 with today's gen soc like iphone SE Series have .

People should understand that smartphone manufacturing is a business. And every decision is made to make more profit, rather than to satisfy the customers or whatever. If that decision satisfies the customer is good, lucky one. But if it brings only profit, is even better.
Is funny to see some fanboys defending their brands blindly, like those companies even cares about them or about their wishes.
Companies care about money. The rest are just secondary things.

But while you are correct its still a shame.
And these devices were lucky to get that length of support. It's all a money game and forced obsolescence.
Especially since samsung and every other company has become like apple. Let's take everything away, update much less, and charge more. All while calling it revolutionary.
Sadly apple's way has won. Ruining phones, innovation, and technology for all.

Solun1, 06 Apr 2022You do realize his comment was made-up, right? With how many times this kind of sentiment is repeated in these comment sections, not on first or even second glance.

I still don't care about software updates that trade a couple gigs of internal storage for marginally useful features when storage seems to be the one thing that won't improve on flagship phones and are the limiting factor on low-end phones.

Any development from the recent samsung leak? Like unlocking boot-loader without tripping knox or something?

                                        1) Since the Note 10 lite has the same processor and it got both android 11 and 12, I think it is pathetic on Samsung's behalf that it didn't upgrade the S9 too. 2) Oh well... who cares, the phone is as fast as day 2 (not day 1, since it started its life with Samsung UX that was a bit laggy).
