And thus begins the Lineage OS usage on this phone - believe me the overall improvements on the S9 series with Lineage OS is astonishing!

Also, there's /e/ OS too, and a couple of others.
Thats the benefit of buying flagships over mid/low end. You always get other OS support.

Sony makes phones just for the sake of it and to stay in the game. The guy is right. Xiaomi should provide better support for their devices as thats their main bussiness and they deserve all negativity until they do it right. Since they're not so cheap anymore they should pay more attention to software support, but I guess they shoot them self in the leg because they have like 50 models per year and its tough to care for all of them + they have so many versions because of selling in different regions... Its not going to be easy but they must do it sooner or later

And if ROM itself isn't rubbish, the fact bunch of apps complain about bootloader being unlocked creates such massive hassle to deal with everything it's just not worth it. I was there and got so fed up with it that I dumped it all and just went with iPhone. I don't care if it's all locked down, at least whatever I get works much better and that was in the end more importan tthan custom ROM's and whatnot.

The Android Freak, 05 Apr 2022Filled with so many bugs. At least with OnePlus, it's MASSIVELY easier to open up the bootloader and shoehorn Pixel Experience or whatever ROM you fancy, and the instructions are easier to follow than cooking Paella or Beef Curry. You literally can't open up the bootloader if you bought the "superior" Snapdragon version, which sucks because even a mid-range phone with a 2022 Mediatek chip runs better than the Exynos S9.
