[deleted post]Chinese semiconductor manufacturing process is no match for Taiwan. China is has just reached 7nm while Taiwan is advancing onto 3nm. MediaTek is a Taiwanese company and their chips are manufactured by TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) - no affiliation with China whatsoever. Chinese flagship phones use MediaTek or Qualcomm chips (or in the case of Huawei, had their Hisilicon chips manufactured by TSMC).

IpsDisplay, 08 Apr 2022This logic doesn't hold I3 and i9 is far apart in ... moreYes, this makes sense if you take into account the previous generations k40 that used 1200, but 8100 and 9000 did not exist at that time, there is a huge difference, now that they exist

      1x Cortex-X2 3.05GHz
      3x Cortex-A710 2.85GHz
      4x Cortex-A510 1.8GHz

      Cortex-A78 3GHz
      3x A78 2.6GHz
      4x Cortex-A55

You notice the difference between generation and also in speed I think

"The 860 was used in a class of phones with 7 series processors. Do you see the pattern here?"

Which? X3 Pro, is an outlier shouldn't even be mentioned, how many 870's sell for less than $350, Poco F3? And that was last year when the crisis was not so noticeable, X4 pro launched with 695

And no, I don't see the pattern anywhere, really, 416 phones were launched in a budget of $350 and only 2 have the "pattern" you mention, it doesn't seem very logical to me

" you can see flagship chipsets in lower-tier products. "

Yes but that doesn't take away from their use, what you're saying is that we should remove the inferior chipsets as they don't have any use because 0.004% of the phones in that budget use flagship chips? If what you say were viable, the first to apply it would be the brands

"What is the point (reference to 1300) when we have the 8100 dimension of the GOD chipset? " Here's what you said

Weak! It should have had the new cores in it, like the upcoming Snapdragon Series 7 Gen 1. I suppose that the Dimensity 8100 is the direct competitor to the Snapdragon Series 7 Gen 1 SoC, but that one also has the ancient A78+A55 combo.

So, if you want the latest ARMv9 architecture (A710+A510) inside a Dimensity chip, your only option is the flagship-grade Dimensity 9000…

I3 and i9 is far apart in class..

And in that example intel has brand image enough for oems to use the i9 as intel intended

This is not the case in the context of smartphones

The D9000 is used in the k50 which is premium midrange the 1300 falls in this same class

The 860 was used in a class of phones with 7 series processors.. see the pattern here?

This not like laptops you can see flagship chipsets in lower tier products ..

You will never see an i9 well below it's class in the smartphone world that line is blurred regularly

That said, on paper these chips (D1000/+, 1100/1200/1300) should offer comparable performance, if not better, than the 778G/+ or 780G. They might even go head to head with the original 865 too. It is up to the OEMs to further maximize their potential. Overall, very solid mid range chip
