STILL waiting on Google assistant on my GW4, after basically being forced to buy it, less than one year after the Watch 3 classic was released. This all because Samsung decided to make a less than 1 year old device basically obsolete by dropping support for Tizen Os. Was a Samsung fan but NEVER wasting my hard earned money on one of their devices for lackluster support.

PS. to the other persin adding common sense to the debate, fitness was dumped on smartwatches when fitness band/step counters were given for free free in cereal boxes. Now all that fitbit craze ended up as marketing feztures for smartwatches. Only 1 in 5 use those features past the initial few months. It's like the camera, refresh rate or charge rate on phones...type of stuff young people and the not so young can repeat easily thinking they're informed.

sudione, 10 Apr 2022Devices from companies such as Garmin/Fitbit/Xiaomi/Amazfit... moresmartphones require daily recharge already. so,I wouldn't recommend any wearable devices that require daily charging,too. if I need to sacrifice camera control,web browsing,youtube or gaming on the wrist,I would love to make that sacrifice. other major smart features like weather info,notification reply,voice calling,voice assistant(google,alexa,siri),find my phone,flashlight,contactless payment,spotify,emergency calling do no require watchOS or wearOS anymore. sports watches are not limited to fitness tracking since 2020.

Apple Watch has very accurate sensors, unlike Samsung, but its battery life is too short for me. Until Samsung manages to produce accurate sensor data under load, it's will remain a gimmick as a health/sports watch.,

Did you know, the 44mm Active 2 can last whole 2 days with always on display?
Without the AOD it can last 3 days.
Thats with many notifications per day and some workouts. Not using wifi though.
At least thats what my watch achieves.

These are sports watches/bands with SMART functions. They don't have an open system and REAL apps store. All of these sports watches are RTOS based. It cannot be compared. Do you want the best battery life? Then select the companies above. Do you want to have a smartphone on your wrist? You choose: Samsung or Apple. It is really that simple.

I was expecting to buy watch4 and cancelled after battery tests revealed. garmin venu2+, fitbit versa4 will be solid alternatives unless watch5 delivers 3-4 days of battery life. none are plastic.

Enjoy your plastic fantastic device you paid almost the same for as a Galaxy Watch 4. If you did, you're one of the only ones naive enough to buy into your own lies, because no one was buying Wear OS watches until Samsung came and saved the ecosystem.

Don't be fooled this time and don't buy the watch 5, we were fooled by the watch 4 and the google assistant. I'm not going to buy it no matter how good it is

watch4 had one of the worst battery life in the market together with apple watch. other wearables push 1 week battery life nowadays. fitbit versa4 will also launch in august with almost identical features(mic/speaker,voice assistant typing) with 5+ day battery life. garmin venu2+ will probably have discounts in august,too. so will xiaomi s1 and amazfit gtr3pro.

Wow that's bigger than the galaxy watch that they downgraded. Dropped like 100mah, downgraded the glass, downgraded the ram, and I think downgraded the storage. All that from the watch to watch 3.
But of course slimmed bezels and charged a lot.
