Google Pixel 6a's camera reportedly won’t feature Motion Mode

The Pixel 6a wouldn’t have the same camera hardware as that of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.

The reverse feature would be more useful: capture a moving subject without excessive motion blur.

            I do not believe the feature is restricted by sensor. Just chill and wait for a modified G-cam. Many features like astronomy mode, HDRboost prove to run on other hardware.
