19 April 2022
The first quarter of the year is slow at the best of times, but now vendors are facing uncertainties, new lockdowns and a growing inflation.

Anonymous, 19 Apr 2022Became a ghost company. It exists but only limited stores s... morePlus earphones, wearables and so on. Huawei as a company is constantly in the top ranks in many areas and even has climbed up as a company in the recent year. Huawei is much more than a smartphone device maker, especially considering Android device manufacturers compete for hardware sales only for Google to take profits out of them. Huawei has opened more stores of their own around the world. HarmonyOS hasn't been launched for phones globally yet.

AnonD-1033007, 19 Apr 2022I wonder what's going on with HuaweiThere are speculations that Huawei is preparing to manufacture their own 5G RF chips and SoC chips. Looks like HarmonyOS 3.0 has been open for developer preview. Besides it looks like Huawei has a new product launch on April 28.

Oppo + Vivo (companies under the same BBK umbrella) would claim #2, tied with Apple. Their marketshare is falling, though. The increasing lack of identity in OnePlus surely isn't helping them, even if the newer budget models may be covering (at least) part of their losses.

Samsung is growing their sales thanks to flagships, unsurprisingly. Why buy alternatives without IP certification or with obsolete USB 2.0 ports nearly at the same price as the proper phone? Madness.

Xiaomi is going down, but slowly. They are still a force to be reckoned with in the budget space, but their "mainstream" flagships are getting less and less competitive each year (mostly due to pricing). Maybe they'll right their ways and become competitive once again... or maybe they won't. Xiaomi has been "hit and miss" for a few years now.

If only Google brought their Pixel phones to more markets, shake up the powers that be.

AnonD-1033007, 19 Apr 2022I wonder what's going on with HuaweiStill waiting for the ban to be lifted I guess.

Smartphone shipments down in 2022? Maybe it has something to do with 99% of phones released this year being absolute garbage and downgrades from 2021..?

Just a thought... Maybe people don't want more expensive crap that's worse than what they've already got. Maybe people aren't quite as stupid as manufacturers think they are

it's just the brand value due to which an extra amount of money is being added.

Apple : volume of units sold : 18%

But revenue was probably over 40%. Some ppl here still does not know why apple does not make phones like Samsung A12.
