Anyways, microSD is far slowe... morePeople have every right to keep complaining about the removal of useful features that were only removed so OEMs could make more profit from selling accessories that would, otherwise, sell very less if those useful features weren't removed from phones. That you and a lot of people keep adjusting to whatever nonsense OEMs do doesn't mean that others must keep mum and follow suit like sheep.

on serious note, I am so used this alert slider since I first got my OnePlus X way back in 2015 that I absent mindedly search for it on my secodary phone sometimes only to realise that it does not have it. I was looking forward to upgrade my primary OnePlus this year but things like these bother me so much.

People need them, it's manufacturers that force people to ADJUST to what suits them (the manufacturers). It's purely a money move, has absolutely nothing to do with people's needs!

Could this phone be launched globally as the Nord3? After all, the Nord2 is powered by a top-end Dimensity chipset.

you have to suffer, 22 Apr 2022but dimensity 8100 is a flagship... midrange are like dimen... more9000 is the current flagship that replaces 1000, 1100, and 1200. 8000 and 8100 are more of a successor to the 800 and 900 series. 700 series is the base entry-level chipset but there are still no news about its replacement to date.

xocomaox, 21 Apr 2022This is a midrange phone.. Anyways, microSD is far slowe... more"Anyways, microSD is far slower than internal memory."
Not really. For all the internal storage's mega speed, it's always meant for 24-7-365 operation, especially when it comes to machine learning. I always check the transfer speed between both internal storage and microSD cards when transferring files from my laptop via cable and they are actually not that different. microSD card is far from going away since internal storage still costs more.

"And headphone jacks.. What do they think the USB-C port is for? If they want to plug headphones in, just do it!"
Not so fast on that one. USB-C audio doesn't have the same universal compatibility as a 3.5mm audio jack. Don't be surprised if you see people saying that USB-C earphones work on phone A but not on phone B. Also, adapters and dongles only increase the USB-C port tear and wear as it's also being used for wired charging.

TL;DR microSD card and 3.5mm audio jack is still truly relevant in 2022 and beyond. I myself have completely stopped using wireless audio and now going all wired.

It so secure that all Coorporate and banking software lets you use it for authorisation.

The one of the main points about 3.5mm jack is that it gives you an output of pure analogue signal, which is important. It is considered to be the most rightfull and "close to audiophile" type of signal. While usb_adapter is a digital "go between". Another thing is that you would be uncapable to sumultaineously use your phone for music/gaming while charging.

Whith the micro sd card the situation is even simplier: well, it is slower than internal memory, but android won't allow you use it for apps anyway. It is primarily for media, and it serves perfectly fine for this purpose. Imagine you being on a trip to some desolate island, you, say, would take much of your movies and music with you. You also want to have space to store photos and videos! What if you are a sort of creator and make your own videos there to share with people via youtube on your channel: you shot the episodes, then cut and paste with an editor, make final cut, upload it. This all requires space, and micro sd is of a good use thus.

nanagdad, 22 Apr 2022This explains the buggy updates for old OnePlus phones. 1+ ... moreHonestly I would rather just rely on custom ROMs at that point.

That is the one good thing about OnePlus phones at least, they let you unlock the bootloader without voiding warranty, and there is always a huge selection of ROMs to choose from on XDA.

Deanie, 22 Apr 2022Good point. OnePlus X was 6.9mm and 138gm, aluminium frame,... more> I believe even thinner phones had headphone jacks back in the day

You are correct. The obscure BLU Vivo Air was a mere 5.1mm thick and yet it had a headphone jack. God I miss that phone.
