No. The other anonymous user already described the reason pretty well, but one other explanation I can add is that an OIS keeps the frames steady when the camera is trying to capture multiple images then combine them into one, potentially increasing the number of frames that can be stacked together.

However please continue to further and further side track this way off point. By all means you're doing a fabulous job.
Does samsung have side tracking too? Is that a useful phone feature?

It is not meant for video. If you turn off EIS, video is too shaky.
For shutter more than 1s, OIS is not gonna prevent blur.
For shutter faster than 1/4s, it is not necessary.
Just little % of lenses from 📷 have OIS.
Just because samsung has something, ppl do not need to label as extremely useful.

Anonymous, 22 Apr 2022OIS is only useful if shutter speed is between 0,25s - 1s. OIS is always useful for shatter speed slower than 1/100s. It elimates vertical shake entirely meaning it helps a lot when you're taking a follow shot of a moving subject. With a hardware stabilization, you can also minimize the blur even when you're holding your phone with only one hand.

And again even the same sensor would be a huge improvement just with everything else around it being newer. Sadly they soups ruin it by ditching the much more mature and natural refined processing for some crazy noise reduction and over sharpening.
