If you go back to my comment, I didn't say anything about NOT changing things. In fact the opposite, I spoke about making changes. I said these changes can be made free (or so cheap that it is free). So if they implemented them, they shouldn't use that as a fake-excuse to downgrade the chipset, display, camera, etc etc.
Not sure if you have looked at a teardown of a phone recently. There is plenty of room to add the features I asked. Worse case scenario, they might have to remove to remove that useless 2MP depth sensor. But that is only if the engineers are incompetent.
Have a look at the teardowns of the Sony Xperia 5 mk III. That is probably the best engineering job out there, or at-least tied against the impressive Sony ZX1c device. Other good mentions are the Samsung A52s, Samsung S10e, ASUS RoG 2, and ZTE Axon 7, which were good for density/feature-full/modularity for their respective era.

And they are "not used much" these days, because they do not exist. The companies have followed Apple, and removed these great features. If they are brought back, I believe they would be used. Especially when talking about a "Pro phone" for a "Pro consumer" who pays that extra and thus expects those "Pro features".
QuadDAC was really nice on the likes of Razer Phone 2, ZTE Axon 7, ASUS RoG 2, and even good options in the LG G6/V30 and certain Samsung devices. Would love to see a re-emergence of "sound quality" in the phone market. The only ones that are serious about it are Sony (Xperia 1,5,10) and ASUS (RoG 2, RoG 5).

But i would love to see a sd-card slot and the jack(quad DAC) makes the way back to flagship oder upper midrange phones.
But i think it will not be used that much.
If you take a look at the best selling phones, almost none of the have these things like a jack,sd-card(exept sony&asus, but they arent selling so well) or ir-blaster(except xiaomi)

They made the phone smaller, lighter and thinner all while having the same 4000 mah battery as edge 20. Also while adding stereo speakers and in display fp sensor(I prefer the physical one tho)
In fact this phone weighs as same as my G4 plus.
Few days back, I took that G4 plus in my hand and was thinking, good old days. Where phones were that light and in a perfect size for hands. Why is no manufacturers doing such things these days.
And now motorola announced this. How wonderful..
I'd pick OIS on main cam and having no optical zoom instead of OIS on 3X optical and non stabilized primary cam, like the edge 20. Keeps the weight and cost in check.
Having sd card slot and 3.5mm Jack would have been nice, yes. But it's not like only motorola is not giving it. So it's okay..

Here's how I would fix/improve this phone:
- Add 3.5mm Headphone Jack
- Add microSD/SIM slot
- Add IrDa Blaster
- Make it IP68 certified
- Upgrade to USB 3.1 (TypeC)
- Include the Ready-For option
- And lastly allow bootloader unlock, provide drivers/kernel/source, and make it very friendly for Developer Community
...you can do all of that without increasing the price, downgrading the chipset, or other components like the display, cameras, battery, etc etc. If you think it cannot be done, that is not correct. We got something close to this with the Samsung A52s device.

I've used edge 20 and Z2 force. Currently One vision.
I've got to say, the light weightness of a phone makes a world of difference. It's easy to go past this point. But motorola was sure to give the most light weight possible with a 4000 mah battery.
Only when someone uses a light weight phone, one can feel it. It's not easy to describe in words...
I've also got to admit, motorola has got the highest number of haters in this GSMArena comments section community, while not even being a motorola user, atleast once. Boy, couldn't even tolerate a lot of comments..

I was hoping that after A52, A52s more phones will get a headphone jack again.
Sadly, this does not seem to be the case.
No matter, I'll get A52s for every member of my family so that in case one dies, we have extras! :D

phone is already thick by the cameras, any phone cover protecting lenses will make whole thing as thick as thickest part so what's the point!! just make the back flat and whack huge battery there!!!
