How?

[deleted post]Yeah, I would know because I actually own one? For regular use that I have is around a day and a half and that's with only 80% charge because I only charge it up to there.

[deleted post]Look who's back! Can't even give a proper insult (or spell for that matter), just copy-pasting like a bot. I wonder how many "else if" statements are in your code

most maker just make term you-opened = tampered = void warranty, simply because people will just make excuse when they broke something in process

in the end its not much difference with apple self-repair terms
bet near future there will be report apple voiding warranty with reason damage caused by user

[deleted post]Look at that, someone/something proved my point! Hilarious.

Anonymous, 28 Apr 2022I'm pretty sure they won't, because they want you... moreThat's a claim I keep reading yet absolutely NOTHING suggests that from the actual experience. Especially when my 3+ years old iPhone XR still feels insanely fast and responsive, I still get all the major feature updates within hardware capabilities of the phone and this is first time in many years that I genuinely don't feel the pressure to buy a new phone, unlike on every single Android phone that I owned to this date where I lost ALL updates after just 2 years max, sometimes even after less. So, how does that work for Apple "artificially" pushing us to buy a new phone all while doing the exact opposite of that? Not to mention changes to new models are usually relatively minor and you're really only incentivized to buy new model if you're buying an iPhone from scratch or you're coming from something really old like iPhone 8 (or you have a cell plan where you get it for small fee or even for free). Sure iPhone 13 is really nice and Apple did really good job with it, but when I ask myself if I really need an iPhone 13 and the answer is "No, not really", so I'm sticking with my XR. Works great, gets all the updates, battery lasts me a day and a half easily, makes good photos, I really can't complain. I've owned many smartphones and this is the first time that I really want to just stick with the "old" phone because I'm so happy with it. I'd like to try something new, sure, but there really isn't any actual need for a new phone.

And yeah, they have the parts already, so what's stopping them from supporting older devices from the start? Nothing. If they could do it for the newest, they could do it for the older too. But they won't.

How often do you see port failing on a year and two old devices? Come on, get real. Battery is by far the most requested thing because it wears out either way if you keep real good care of it or beat it like trash. They'll eventually add more things, I'm sure.
