Its clear the lag is caused due to delay from shifting from 1 fps to 90 fps or whatever it actually is.
I think the easy solution is to decide refresh rates based on app. And allow user to decide too. That's it.
Scrolling apps for example, can do with 90 fps. Games on 120. Of course this is debatable but working solution for now.

One Plus still has a budget mentality as a company, but forgot what they are in the premium segment. Since OnePlus guy left Carl Pei, this company went down to shit :)

aknsreddy, 02 May 2022OnePlus is over, i haven't seen anyone buying this bra... more8t was the last oneplus. 7t was a much better deal than nord, because of the same price but better hardware. Nord only had 5g over 4g on 7t, but the rest of the hardware was a huge downgrade.

OnePlus is a company that, while they do update the processor, they continually increased the prices in each iteration AND downgraded something on the device.
- OnePlus One: great flagship, but lacks User Removable Battery and microSD compared to the LG G3, Samsung S5, and Samsung Note 3 competitors
- OnePlus 2: overheating, software issues, discontinued quickly
- OnePlus 3: lacks IP68 protection
- OnePlus 3t: nothing downgraded besides price
- OnePlus 5: loses "OnePlus Design" copies iPhone 7
- OnePlus 5t: screen shape (18:9)
- OnePlus 6: screen shape (19:9), ugly notch, glass back
- OnePlus 6t: screen shape (19.5:9), ugly hole, no 3.5mm jack
- OnePlus 7pro: screen shape (19.6:9), heavy, curved glass
- OnePlus 7t Pro: nothing downgraded bedsides price
- OnePlus 8 Pro: screen shape (19.8:9), heat concerns, return of hole
- OnePlus 9 Pro: screen shape (20:9), quiet a warm device
- OnePlus 10 Pro: ColorOS scrolling issues, overheating issues
I feel like the OnePlus 8 Pro was the best time their devices could compete against flagships. They could finally match competitors in the camera section and waterproofing. And it was the last time they had proper OxygenOS. It doesn't help that it lacks: microSD, IrDa Blaster, 3.5mm headphone jack, big price increase, and has a very fragile build quality (curved glass both sides).
When they were more focused on "best value" they were a formidable choice. And I would rank them as: OnePlus One, OnePlus 3t, OnePlus 3, OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5t and OnePlus 7t.
I feel like the worst devices in their lineup have been: OnePlus 2, OnePlus 10 Pro, OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 6t, OnePlus 6, OnePlus 7t Pro, OnePlus 7pro. I won't include the likes of their Nord series and Non-Pro series (10t, 9t, 8t...) here.

Anonymous, 02 May 2022But they (Oneplus) were the ones that made high refresh rat... moreSee, this is why it doesn't matter who did what "first". It's who does something first and then continues to reliably do that feature. A lot of Android phone makers are terrible at this. They always throw things in devices to make firsts, but they often can't seem to keep things in check continuously. OnePlus is a good example. To screw things up this way is just unforgivable. And on device that's selling for almost 1000€... People used to be forgiving when OnePlus phones cost 500€. Expecting the same now for twice as much is just bizarre expectation from OnePlus or shall I say BBK...

SizN80, 02 May 2022This seems like pretty typical android jitter, lag and stut... moreLol, no. I have a second hand Galaxy S20+. Even though is a 2 years old model, the phone is smooth and performs really good. Even the battery is not that bad, if I don't game on it, which I don't, because I don't like mobile gaming.
I bought this phone as a secondary phone. It is so good, that it became my main phone. I will change it only with a S21 ultra or S22 ultra.
Bottom line, this is not 2013 anymore. When Android phones were laggy. Lol.

The screen just doesn't seem to be quick enough to turn back the refresh rate to full 120Hz in an instant moment of user input/display activity. This is really sad for a premium flagship phone in 2022.
On an irrelevant topic though, I'd like to see Samsung's QD-OLED display technology make its way to smartphones, so that we could achieve higher brightness and longer lifespan OLED screens in the future.

It's a problem with OnePlus software. With my OnePlus 7T, the display will switch down to 60Hz when a video playback is happening. You won't need max refresh rate when watching YouTube and Netflix at fullscreen, but when scrolling through a feed containing autoplay videos such as in Twitter or Instagram, the YouTube comments while playing video, or in apps that use media playback in the background, it will stutter and jank. OnePlus' implementation of dynamic refresh rate is bad.

Olympus Oms, 01 May 2022Nope. Not in Europe. China is the only market where OnePlus phones ship with ColorOS officially. Everywhere else they have have almost the exact same version of OxygenOS except for minor localisation differences. And OxygenOS 12 is just ColorOS with a different skin so you're basically getting ColorOS regardless of where you live.
