01 May 2022
The phone - the 10R variant - launched in India this week. Its cousin, the Realme GT Neo3, did the same.

Mediatek dimensity chipset is not able to give high performance gaming. Bgmi is the best app to test performance and it failed, the game is choppy, also high graphics options are not enabled in bgmi for this chipset. When they are taking 43000 why plastic body? The only thing stands out it 150w charging and that is it. Rest all is same, no innovation. Compare to other mobiles phones it's all the same. Money is the only thing what they want now with some tweaks.

I prefer the GT Neo 3 because it is beautiful. This one is boxy and lookls like a brick. Also, Realme too promises three OS updates.

Most of my friends who had purchased ₹15k plus phones have been saying they are not worth thatoney after using for 2 years. I was the only one with less than 10k phone and am happy, mine has lasted 5 years. I just despise the current crop of phones.

Using OnePlus 8, ready for change, definitely would buy it if it had much useful slider, unfortunately it doesn't, so i guess change will wait until Series 11. Personal opinion, OnePlus will do better job than Realme, there will be some slight differences, internal design, cooling, not to mention software.

Why would I buy a phone from a dying brand?
Oneplus 10 Pro breaks in half and the R is worse.

The Nord 2 is not small enough.

Judging by the fact OnePlus Nord 2 is only now receiving Beta Android 12 (when Google is almost ready to release Android 13), I can say that is not so good for OnePlus mid-range phones.
Not to mention their latest software updates are full of bugs. If they are doing it on purpose or if they are just not good at this, either way is not a good image to their customers.

Of course is about money these days. So many phones are almost identical between them, that the only thing would make one more appealing, is the price.
Or another criteria could be the UI, if someone likes a particular Android skin.
But, imo, OnePlus and I think Chinese phones in general, have lost their identity. And now they are just trying to find one. At least when talking about global markets.

The 10R pricing for global market not going to be as good as expected, if we look at the big difference of Realme GT Neo3's prices for China and India.

Like its cousins in design, this thing is a monster for the price. Which might make the situation all the more upsetting that it doesn't feel like a OnePlus phone, even much more so than the Nord CE models.
