Honor is just Huawei but painted differently. And this news article is proving my point.
The fact that the Chinese people are quickly changing from Huawei to Honor, means that is basically the same company.
Bottom line, nothing is changed, just the name. If it's good or bad, people can decide for themselves. In my country for example, Central European country, people are not buying Huawei or Honor phones. You can't even find many of their models in the shops (even in the online ones).

Actually Honor has to do a lot effort and it is good time for them in market but instead copy Huawei designs, they suppose work on their own ideas.
Best of luck HONOR

captain fokou, 28 Apr 2022If China starts banning companies the rest of the world is ... moreIf China starts banning companies, China is doomed, not the rest of the world. China can't live to its standard just by itself. They need western countries more than we need China.
The best example is their artificially made growth - empty cities built just for building itself, artificial islands, massive production of cheap goods that don't last a week... no, thank you.

FatShady, 28 Apr 2022imo, china should've banned apple from selling and mak... moreNah, China as a country should have been blocked from using "IP" the backbone of the internet protocol in the late 90's. If they want to block their citizens away from the world, they should do it without the tools that The West has built. You can't have the good without the bad. By the early 2000's, their great intra-net (firewall) was built and they actively blocked technological companies from functioning in China. This was instrumental in the arrest of the DPC political party, and to assert control and censorship in the electronic medium within their network.
On top of this, Huawei was a middling network company used by their military division in the early days. And they weren't particularly advanced or successful as a business either globally or even within China in the early 2000s. However, there has been evidence of huge breach, corporate espionage, and theft of Intellectual Property in that period. Nortel which was one of the global network leaders, suffered and went bankrupt. Meanwhile, Huawei had a huge headstart with network technology, and began offering network solutions at impossibly low prices globally. Most of the continents Europe, North America, Oceania, and other key countries have blocked Huawei network equipment and contracts for security concerns.
So I do not think Huawei being banned is unjustified.
Meanwhile, here's the companies and services that are blocked and banned in China:
Vodafone, Telefonica, etc etc...
Dropbox, SoundCloud, Dailymotion, Vimeo, YouTube...
DuckDuckGo, Wikipedia, Quora, Discord, Medium, Reddit, Slack...
Google, Amazon, Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, Tumblr, Flickr, Snapchat, Instagram...

In the UK for example where any UK company is purchased the staff must be transfered over under the transfer of undertakings regulations 2006. This is law. When an acquisition happens you also acquire the staff of the company you are purchasing. That would be one of the main reasons for the purchase in any case as the staff and their know how are one of the most important aspects of many companies

RejZoR, 28 Apr 2022And why would they do that? Huawei was banned because they ... moreThey got banned because US government feared the 5G standard that is not commercially available in US (Sub-6) and the antennas that they wouldn't be able to keep under their control would spread all around the world if Huawei would've kept growing their market share in the telecommunication market. Huawei's antennas were quite cheap, and that's why many countries in EU including Germany and UK were opposing Trump's aggressive movement at first (until they fold to his pressure and threats).
US can make up all sorts of reasons for any big Chinese companies yet Huawei was the one who got affected the most by a massive margin, by far. Also, why did they ban Huawei in a way that specifically their mobile and telecom sectors would get hurt and not others (eg PC department)? That's right, 5G.
