All I remember was this wasn't tempting in the slightest when it launched a year ago due to the horrible SoC.

Now they have the audacity to launch it in India a year later? Bruh. That SoC didn't get any less horrible.

Screen was barely above 400 nits.

              1) The display with just 405 nits max brightness, it will be unusable on broad daylight.
              2) Use of two year old Mediatek Helio G95 SoC.
              3) Sluggish and unresponsive in-display fingerprint scanner will be a big hindrance in daily use
              4) Great camera hardware spoilt with supar image processing.
              5) The display pill sized cutout is a big hindrance.

When companies are moving forward in reducing punch hole size and eventually to under display camera, this one went backwards with dual hole. Amoled alone won't save this phone

This phone is all about accustoming Indian customers & media, that Tecno makes a phone costing over INR 25K. This model is like a primar to season us of the price band their future high end models from Techno. This model also embodies what they are capable from a technical standpoint. Frankly after reading the GSMArena review, it is phone with too many rough edges and not worth the buy.

I remember, BBK group used to follow this strategy a decade back. There will be little to no sale of this year old Phantom X in a super competitive market like India, but that's not the point why Techo released this phone. Only if Techno provides huge discounts after 6 months it will sell.

Comparing Phantom X with something like LG G8X is an insul!!!. G8X is in a totally different league, it is a flagship worthy phone armed with SD855 and a polished secure UI.

wth is this??? samsung galaxy s9 on the back and the front is huawei p40/galaxy s10 notch style???

                      🤣🤣🤣🤣😭

Its sort of expensive. Unless Apple level premium is how Tecno sees itself.

At this price point, you'd expect a Snapdragon 888 or a 8Gen 1 chipset from an estalished Chinese manufacturer.
Even my much higher performing LG G8x with Snapdragon 855 costed lower than this in 2021.
Now, I do know that Tecno has a very good camera setup, but again, the Nokia days are gone, where camera alone used to get things done in markets.
