Of course the effect is temporary. The idea is that when the case cools down the gel absorbs water, and when it warms up, the water evaporates and absorbs energy, thus creating the cooling effect. It's the same as perspiration, but that requires a constant supply of water from within, and without that you will eventually overheat.
People rarely use phones at full power for very long, so it is a workable concept. But here, we obey the laws of thermodynamics.

Anonymous, 09 May 2022Before reading the article and tests I could already guess ... moreor if you have air conditioner, you should put it at 8°C to cool down the phone. or just put it in fridge. (i do not recommend you to do that, can condense inside the lens or water gets inside the motherboard and other insides)

Frank, 09 May 2022Chip makers should now focus on efficiency and less thermal... moreMore like manufacturers should focus on proper premium materials, don't blame chip makers , they've made a very powerful CPU. It's up to manufacturers too use implementation it. Clueless mupppppet.

So cheap way instead off using copper cooling chambers or carbon fibre, also it looks ugly with those bells whistles. Needs just plain minimalistic.

Darknoor, 09 May 2022Did you really need to test that obvious lie?Eh..its not a lie..it is effective...but from the looks of it...basically you could run the back of your phone under water to cool the case and just use it like normal

Anonymous, 08 May 2022like that phone will not run hot lolNo, they don't. Vivo X note got widelife performance at 94% after 20 loops. Compare to 60% of Oppo x5 pro.

How about vs a typical plastic/silicone/TPU cases which most people use?
They insulate and make the phones even hotter. At least this case provides protection without the expense of heat buildup during use and charging.

Chip makers should now focus on efficiency and less thermal output instead of performance. AAA titles are available in android and why do you need more performance for candy crush
PS: Ik heavy games like PUBG and garena is available still those are basic graphics compared to pc graphics

Before reading the article and tests I could already guess this is a bullshit stunt “gemink” accessory. Unless the metal is directly connected to the SOC or vapor chamber it aint going to do shit. You are better off pointing a fan to the device if you must.
