Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) quietly launches with Android 12

13 May 2022
The original arrived with Android 10, however, the new edition still runs on a Snapdragon 720G, which may limit its longevity.

Outside from that, it works normally, and at much, it gets somewhat warm. I have been in Zoom meetings for a good while and no issues whatsoever. The metal body does helps it a lot to stay cool

Also my point was somewhere else than complaining about price.

Thank you for the reply! I agree with the quoted sentence.

Someone in my family had a Galaxy M21 with the Exynos 9611, and I don't know whether it was due to the phone itself being defective or due to the Exynos 9611 being a trash SoC, but she couldn't hold Zoom calls on her phone for more than 30 minutes at a stretch, while I could do that on my Realme 3 Pro with the Snapdragon 710. OneUI automatically crashed the Zoom app on her phone with an "overheating warning", despite the phone still not being that hot to touch. My Realme heated up maybe just as much as her phone, but it still managed to sustain a Zoom call once for just about 1:30 hours.

I'm still getting excited over this upcoming tablet, for some reason. I do hope it'll be available at a reasonably cheap price, failing which the 4 GB/64 GB Tab S7 FE might look like a much better deal for not much more money.

Really wonderful tablet for reading and media consumptions. I lost my s pen and still can't find a replacement where I live.

blue, 13 May 2022It would be great, but then it would not cost $400.Xiaomi can give Snapdragon 860 for their $400 Pad 5, so Samsung can gain an advantage by giving LTE connectivity support, which is something the Pad 5 doesn't have.

This one is not bad, s6 lite goes cheaper time to time under $300.

Why didn't they just named it S8 Lite?

The reason why they dont put a better chipset inside is to not being forced into selling a 5G tablet at cheaper price than the S7 FE.

Still, the SD will age better than the Exynos chip.

I like the S6 Lite tablet because of it offering S-Pen features at a relatively affordable price, but I'm disappointed over Samsung equipping it with the now-old Snapdragon 720G and still increasing the price by €20. I hope it'll be available from €320 right from launch itself. Despite the tablet being slightly underpowered, the Wacom-powered S-Pen tech in it still is one of the best pen technologies one can find.

Dont bother with Android tablets , they are a disaster. Bought an flagship Samsung in 2019 and it lags , hardly receives any updates and is getting so slow ! iPad for sure next time.

I have my Tab S6 lite since May 2020 and it's really nice. The S-pen is a nice addition but I don't use it on my tablet as often as on my Note. It's a good tablet, it runs Android 12 too with the latest update. So this renewed version is a better deal than the Tab S7 FE in my opinion.

Honestly, this is a great decision.

This is the best Android tablet you can get right now in terms of performance-price-features.
I own the 2020 edition and it's good. If I were in the market for another tablet, I would pick up this one.
As a curious note: the S6 Lite 2020 had the same specs as the Galaxy A51, and this one seems to continue the tradition, having shared specs with the A52
