      I get Sony phones cause their bootloader are easier to unlock & easier to downgrade firmware(No knox & No Bootloader downgade blockade).

      Also DRM issues have been fixed since XZ series when reflashing stock firmware it goes back.

        The only reason that I would buy a Sony Xperia Smartphone is because it has a MICROSD card slot. Other than that. I would go to the other flagships that has an excellent camera for astrophotography.

              In China so many people change phones faster, more than other markets.

              Other companies make 10-20X more money than Sony, but still you want sony to do the same. With which money? Business lost money for over 5 years and just now is being able to slowly recover.

              Samsung Mobile had 73 billion dollars revenue between january/21 and december/21. Entire Sony had less than 80 billion in their fiscal year.

              Can you afford having same life style of someone who makes 10x more money than you?

              Most of people I know use galaxy midranges or iphones. The iphones users update (because they have no choice, otherwise apps stop working in 2 years) always complain about phones being slow. I was proven updates slow down phones.

              Sister uses samsung flagships, another person that got new one because it was slow after few updates, same way she complained when she had iphone.

              Be honest here. Samsung phones are already slower than other with same SoC when new. Let alone after 2-3 updates. Zero chance same performance is kept after 2 updates, imagine 3-4.

              Tell me. Can Asus afford too to offer 3-4 updates? Can Meizu? Can Htc ? No, neither can sony.

                    Anonymous, 22 May 2022Sony phone are expensive for an Android phone 🤦🏻‍♂️Yes, I agree. I think it's innovative and very good for many reasons, but I don't follow the pricing considerations. And product availability is a huge disadvantage.

                      Tbh, I don't mind paying a high price for long-term quality. A friend of mine still keeps his functioning Z2 despite already moving to 10 Plus since 2020, and the latter is still in solid form to this day. Even with the new 10 Mk4, he still sees no interest in upgrading from his current 10 Plus.

                        Price alone is most likely not the issue, it's simply the lack of value you get for your money - software support, hardware you get for the money, bug, half-baked / or downright not working features.
                        It's a Sony product, you know what you are buying.

What's sad in the smartphone market is that you cannot have these basic features anymore, so it's like 1400 euro or nothing. It's a damn shame.

                                A bit misleading headline, right?
                                Xperia 10 IV certainly is not great, since most people voted "not for me".
                                And based on the discussion, even 1 IV is not great, and adding to that is also very expensive.
                                Another year, another disappointment from Sony.

                                  Why care about a phone that becomes unsupported in two years, and even in the last year the support is very low? And yes, I had a Sony. Twice. Never making the same mistake again.
