Huge companies are relocating away from china in case you haven't noticed. Just look at the colossus being built in Arizona for chip manufacturing. In a few years people will completely quit on china products. Also, the same thing is happening in Europe.
It will be somewhat more expensive, but a lot of people won't care. They'll still buy, especially if it says Made in USA or Europe. I know I would.

This clearly shows it's not that Apple doesn't want to diversify its supply chain, but the number of suitable suppliers is just limited

[deleted post]Please dont. Just read about the condition of the workers in the apple factories in india, its miserable. In wistron there was a massive riot about a year ago because of worker exploitation by higher managers and in foxconn there was food poisoning and the accomodation for the female employees was found to be very poor.

Doesn't really matter where as long as high standards are kept, & lol, some savings are passed on instead of all profit.

This is why flagships redmi, nubia, meizu, realme are half price huawei was and honor is now.
This is how you see phones at $500-600 in China with "similar " specs compared to those $1100.
Easy to save money by using ram, storage, 3rd camera, other sensors (temperature, light, etc), metal frame/plastic body, connectors etc made by local companies.
Stuff from USA, South Korea, Japan, Germany, France, UK will never be as cheap as chinese counterparts
