Have you seen vinyl sales lately? In 2021, vinyl sales grew to $1.0 BILLION for the first time since 1986. If vinyl records have survived this long, I think you can understand why the 3.5mm jack still has so many vocal supporters, nobody wants things to "advance" just for the sake of advancing, especially if the newer technology is in its' current state worse than what it's supposed to be replacing (which won't happen, you can't compare forms of media to a vital port) and we're not even talking about just phones at this point, this extends to EVERYTHING such as laptops, audio amplifiers, cameras with external microphones (which can have superior quality to the built-in microphone whether you accept it or not), TVs, almost everything that makes sound still has a headphone jack besides smartphones and even then, dongles exist for a reason. Cables are likely never going to go away, the future you speak of is probably yet to come for at least 50 years.

There's no point in "advancing" to WORSE technology, plus headphone jacks are not the same as they were in the 1800s or whenever you think they were made, get real. There's a reason people still appreciate analog media.

        Man yes they are not the same but since 1869 they came to a point where they cant be improved any further and something new have to come.
        Such as with for examples audio cassetess we had ones that could recod 30 minutes then 60 minutes and 120 minutes then video cassetess came and we could record video too. Also 60, 120, 180 up to 300 minutes and thats was over for videocassetes because they came to the point where no other improvement could be made but something tottaly new have to ome such as CDs, then DVDs and Blueray after which a memory cards, external disks and usb keys were invented.
        But nowdays almost nobody uses audio and video cassetess or vynyl plates nor CDs. Its mostly DVD, Blueray discs and other lot better and lot smaller physycal storage options plus cloud storage.

        With jacks is the same. In came to point where nothing can make him better and thus we got wireless technology.
        Difference between me and you guys is: You saying i am trolling because i live with the modern era and accept new ideas and technologies as they came. You live in old ancient times where wired was future even it couldnt move any further.
        Yes companies can invent lot of new earphones and earplug a wired ones but same old jack will allow only what he can allow.

        Its like with phones you can have a 120W charger on your Iphone 13 pro max but will not allow to charge at 120W. With this is the same you can have latest and n ewest earphones or earpplugs but the sound will come trough old ancient technology which will not allow you to enjoy your music at 100%.
        Hope i explained my self clearly to you.
        Now i really want to know what you will try to say now.

        One more thing wireless was it is and always will be the future where cables are technology of the past. Yes nowdays we cant use electricity in households wirelessly but soon in near future will be possible even those things we would call a science fiction now.

          And inbuiild mic is good enough.
          Most cameras have inbuild mic and is good enough for millions of people who bought them.
          You litterary spreading lies and nonsense to the world but i really dont care since i will be the another person for who the build in mic will be good enough and adding another mic will make just a little difference.

Except they both have IBIS, missing on the R10.

                    Fact people dont agree with me means they love to live in history books of the old ancient past of archaic age and dont want to accept modern era and its technologies.

                    If we dont get killed by overpopuulation then a global heat will make sure we do.

YOU said even the cheapest to the most expensive cameras don't have a headphone jack, I showed you multiple cameras that have them. Cameras from at least 2012 have had the jack on them.

                              Sony DSC-RX1 from 2012 has one as well.

                              You do realize that those external mics will have much better audio recording as well, right?

A pinhole microphone will not always suffice.
